“Peaceful paradise.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

We found a lovely selection of cafes (watch out for tourist traps though) and the beach is beautiful in the off season.

There are not many better things to do here than stroll the Palm Cove Beach in the morning and evening.
Picturesque, clean, well maintained, safe and fun.

“So quiet and relaxing and BEAUTIFUL!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Palm Cove beach is almost like having your own private beach. Thier were hardly more than 25 people at the beach all day, with no one but me and my Mate lurking about on the south end of the beach. The Stinger Nets are very effective for safe swimming!

“In one word: Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

Palm Cove beach is the one you see in all the travel brochures. Clean, white sands. Sweeping palm trees. Views that stretch on for miles. It's simply beautiful.
The beach has a long pathway that winds through the trees, so if you don't want to get your feet burnt on the hot sand, you can still admire the views and do a beach side walk on the path. There are loads of picnic tables in very serene surrounds, plus free barbecue facilities and showers. Pick any spot to sit and just watch the waves—there isn't one area that isn't perfect for this.
Of course, you can't swim in the water outside the stinger net, unless you want to risk being stung by a box jellyfish (I've been stung by a blue bottle elsewhere, and trust me, if that hurts, then I'd hate to think how one of these nasties would fee). But don't worry as there is lots of vinegar on the foreshore and the lifesavers patrol the beach near the stinger net during the busy times.
Swimming in the stinger net is great fun. It's usually pretty deep at Palm Cove, no matter the time of day. The water is blue and fresh and clean. You can even see some manta rays in the shallows—don't worry, they are tourist friendly, but mind your step.
Palm Cove beach is beauty at it's best. You cannot visit Tropical North Queensland and not stop off there for a stroll. Grab yourself some potato cakes from Pete's, and soak in the surrounds. It's one of the best beaches in Australia, if not the best.
