“Excellent wedding location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

My husband and I were recently married at the Sea Temple Palm Cove, and the entire experience was wonderful. We do not live in Cairns so the idea of planning a wedding from afar is daunting, but Rebecca made everything very easy for us. Most guests stayed at the resort; and their comments about the food & beverage staff throughout the evening were glowing. Very attentive service, with the food being plentiful and delicious. It was important to us that our guests enjoyed a 'holiday' atmosphere for the entire weekend, and Sea Temple definitely provided that.

Room Tip: If your budget can stretch to the spa penthouse, the space and the view is definitely worth it.

We stayed in a 2 bed, 2 bath with penthouse roof (it was Unit 407) - and had a great stay. The quality of all the rooms in the complex appears similar but we loved the views from this room - of the pool and the beach from the balcony and also from the roof.

It was located away from main reception and restaurant area so we had no noise at night and a lift takes you to the front door. The roof was great to enjoy lunch and dinner (including the private spa) and it was half under cover.

We loved the whole complex - the pools, the restaurant and the staff were all great.

We don't often rave about 'hotel accommodation' but this didn't feel like a hotel - it actually did feel like a resort and I think we were very lucky with the room - I'd definitely try and book this one again.

Room Tip: We had Unit 407 which is a 2 bed / bathroom penthouse - it was far enough away to not be disturbed a...

We stayed at the Sea Temple during the final leg of our Australian trip, and I chose it simply because it looked so beautiful on the net. When we arrived we were not disappointed - it is truly stunning and the quality of the property and its services is out of this world.

The location of the hotel is right on the beach in Palm Cove, but what we hadn't bargained on was it being jelly fish season, so we were unable to actually go into the ocean. Thankfully the hotel boasts what I'd genuinely say is the nicest pools I've ever seen whilst travelling - its huge! Our teenage children had a ball in it and as the weather is so nice, we would be out at night-time many an evening swimming with the stars twinkling above us.

When we initially arrived, we were shown into a 2 bed apartment with everything you could need for your stay. Unfortunately, both rooms had a double bed and as our older children are different sexes, it wasn't practical for them to share. we asked for another room with two single beds in the room and were shown to another apartment, which in our opinion wasn't as superior as the first room we were shown into. i spoke to the main desk again and as we had booked to stay at the hotel as part of the renewal of our marriage vows, the manager kindly agreed to let us have a roll away bed free of charge for the week, which was very much appreciated.

For anybody travelling from outside of Australia, do some reading about crocs before you travel, as I was always under the impression that the things to worry about over there are sharks......they're not! There are frequent sightings of salt water crocs along the coast line and a chap had been swimming in the netted area which keeps out jelly fish, only to find himself faced with a 2 mtr croc in the week before we arrived. As we'd walked down the beach and over a little creek to get to the netted area, we hadn't seen the sign warning of jelly fish and crocs - I was mortified and we never actually went into the sea during the visit.

We took a trip out to the great barrier reef with our children which was booked in Cairns and was on the Quicksilver cattamaran. Our original trip was booked for the low isles, but due to weather we were upgraded out to the Quicksilver pontoon, which initially we were thrilled about. However, as our young son was with us, it was completely impractical for him and so we weren't able to take advantage of many of the things on offer, and he certainly couldn't go out into the water as it was so choppy being out in the middle of the ocean. The staff on board were amazing at dealing with passengers who were seasick (me included) - it truly was worth the money from that aspect.

If you are staying in Oz be prepared for the cost of living - it is sky high compared to the UK and being as the Sea temple is a 5 star hotel you can imagine the cost. But there is a supermarket similar to asda or tesco about 10 minutes drive and with all the amenities in the apartments, you can easily eat as you would at home......even tho it feels like a busmans holiday! We ate in the hotel restaurant the night we renewed our vows and for 5 of us it cost £198 and we didn't have any alcohol. But then again it was no more expensive than the local restaurants, so for convenience I'd definitely recommend it.

Take a trip to Cairns tropical zoo which is about 5 minutes away - you can feed the kangaroos amongst other things and get close to typical australian wildlife.

Room Tip: Dont stay in the apartments either side of the boardwalk looking out towards the sea - it is like a...

This is our second stay at Sea Temple Palm Cove and we loved it just as much as the first if not better. The staff and facilities are excellent quality and value for money. The accommodation is extremely spacious, we rented a two bedroom apartment for two couples and there was plenty of room.
The buffet breakfast isexcellent value for money and the restaurant had a new menu and the food was great. We are big foodies and go to a lot of restaurants so we have been spoilt and this one lived up to our expectations.

Wonderful stay. Staff very helpful. Great breakfast.
Stayed in 2 bedroom unit which was spacious and had full kitchen and laundry facilities
Beautiful outdoor areas with great pool. Short stroll to the beach. Palm Cove is beautiful and staying at this hotel enabled us to visit the fantastic resturants in the area and walk along the beautiful beach. Certainly a wonderful area. A fantastic location, close enough to Cairns if shopping is your thing and also close to Port Douglas to visit Sunday markets..

Dear Accorhotels traveller,

Great to hear your feedback on your recent stay at the Pullman Palm Cove Sea Temple Resort & Spa. Our 2 bedroom apatments are certainly popular and are a great base to explore all that Tropical North Queensland has to offer.

Being halfway between port Douglas and Cairns, Palm Cove is ideally located and has that quaint village feel.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our special part of the Tropical North.

We stayed in a double room overlooking the pool for 2 nights and I really loved it. Shame that we chose the wet season to visit but that was our own fault!
The service was friendly, the room was clean and modern with a lovely little balcony. The pool was absolutely gorgeous (so warm!) and the jacuzzi pool was great. We only ate in the restaurant once- for breakfast before we left. At $28 for the buffet it wasn't cheap (mind you, not much is cheap in Australia!), but the food was good. The only complaint would be that it pissed it down and that we couldn't stay for longer!

We are locals to the area and decided to stay at Sea Temple Resort for a relaxed birthday weekend. We booked into a 3 brm apartment with private pool, after our locals discount this cost us $475 for the night (Ahh bit rich but figured it was going to be worth it, WRONG!) upon arrival the room was nice, we had a nice outdoor area (even if it did back on to swamplands) and a small pool. We had dinner and a few drinks then went in for a swim, the pool instantly burnt our eyes and skin, most of us got out straight away but a dedicated friend stayed in a while longer, when he did get out however his shorts were bleached!!! I got out and went directly for a shower, wow what can I say... I turned on the shower and the water streamed straight across the front of me and into the corner, now normally I'm not fussy as long as the water is warm but the water was like bullets and spraying directly into my face, I couldn't move the head nor figure out how I was going to get the soap off the rest of my body, in the end I held one hand over my face and tried to direct the spray down my body with the other hand. The following morning we went down to breakfast which was included and were informed that we would need to pay an extra $4pp for bacon and eggs (really! you couldn't cover that in the cost of the room??) paid the extra and ordered our eggs and asked for some hollandaise sauce to go with them, our eggs were bought out but with no sauce, asked again for the sauce and this was bought out about 7-10mins later, by that time our eggs were cold :( . We had paid for a late check out so we could spend the morning by the pool, wrong again! The pool was partly closed due to maintenance (they were jack hammering up all the tiles very, very noisy at 8:30am and obviously not a small job, nor a last minute one) We decided to just go home (after all we couldn't use our pool either!) When we checked out we mentioned to Chad the receptionist our problems with the room and ask why we had not been made aware of the maintenance upon booking. Chad was extremely rude!!! Came up with pathetic excuses and belittled myself and my friend. I own my own business at Palm Cove and will not ever in the future be referring people to your establishment not with service like that which we received. Utterly disappointing!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a decent pillow!
