“#1 in Palm Cove for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

We have been going to Palm Cover almost every year since 2003. We love the place and have fallen in love with Peppers Beach Club. Fantastic pool! The kids can swim, play in the sand, make noise and its all good. The staff are always ready to help. The swim up bar is perfect. Parents can grab a drink and still keep an eye on the kids swimming or playing in the sand. Walk across the street and your on the beach. Multiple dinning options right at the front door and all are just lovely. Rooms are good sized and well appointed. We have stayed here many time sand never had a bad experience. You can save money booking through privately owned units but they don't get serviced. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Pool views are great but if you have kids and will be swimming a lot, ask for ground floor near the...

We spent 3 nights in a two bedroom penthouse room. The room is basically made up of a spa room (spa on the balcony, bathroom and bedroom) and a larger room (bedroom with large bathroom, kitchen and lounge/dinning area). There is also an entry area and the two rooms have separate locked doors that can be left open to make a larger apartment. The spa on the balcony easily ft three adults in it and it was lovely to sit in with a cocktail. The kitchen was well equipped and had a coffee pod machine. You are supplied with two free then they are $2 each to purchase. If you are staying for a while I would suggest you pick up a pack from Woolies cheaper. The room was reasonably quiet, the aircon was quiet and you could just hear the croaking frogs out the back (there had been a lot of rain). The room was modern and serviced daily.

There is an undercover carpark. I had read previous reviews complaining about the carpark but we didn't have a problem parking. It wasn't too busy though. Being in the penthouse we did have to walk up 3 flights of steps to get to our room.

There are 3 pools. A lovely lagoon pool with a swim up bar (cocktails $16 a pop but yummy). This pool tended to be where most of the kids were (swimming toys were provided). We had no problem finding sun beds in the morning and spent most of the day by the pool. There is a deeper formal swimming pool and also a 'serenity' pool where signs advise for quiet. This pool was quite shady.

Breakfast was supplied in the price ($299 for the two bedroom suite for 4 adults with breakfast). It was your traditional small buffet - hot foods, cereals, pastries, fruits, meats etc. It wasn't the flashiest feed but more than acceptable for the price. We had a big enough feed that we didn't have lunch on any of the 3 days we were there. The restaurant it is served in needs updating though as the seats were quite dirty and the cushions were falling apart.

We ate at the surf club next door each night as they had a different $15 special each night that was a large typical pub feed.

Reception was friendly and umbrellas were available when it rained (if you got in early enough). There is a full service spa within the resort. I had a 90 minute massage for $150. It was good but not the best I've had.

Picture this ..... You arrive by car late at night in torrential rain only to be told there is $5 charge for someone to park your car and $5 to return the key to your room. Unbelievable...welcome to Australian hospitality!! At $900 a night ( staying in a penthouse ) surely I could get my car parked on arrival. Oh and I hope u don't drink coffee! That's $4 extra if u want a coffee machine espresso at breakfast . Don't get me started on the quality of that breakfast buffet, it just feels cheap & very basic. We recommend Vivo down the road instead for service, atmosphere & a quality meal. Also room 1231/1232 are over the restaurant and noisy until late at night, so the ones we had should be avoided.
Pools were nice however pool bar opens too late at 11.30am. Generally rooms cleanliness was poor, as was the plunge pool on the roof which I don't think had been cleaned for some time. The lagoon pool has 3 umbrellas for about 30 day beds. There should be 5 or 6 more at a minimum. A palm tree is no protection against hot sun or torrential rain.
I would describe our stay as average & pleasant but certainly not memorable or worth a second visit.
Most of the staff looked as unimpressed to be there as we were. There just aren't enough staff down on the ground. Beer glasses from night before should not be on pool bar up until 11am next day. Not good enough.

Second time to peppers palm cove and totally impressed again! Stayed in apartment 2121/2122 which is even better than our last apartment in he same block. Huge, spacious, 3 bedroom stylishly decorated apartment located on second level overlooking gorgeous pool.
Booked through cairns holiday specialists who always give superior customer service.
Facilities at peppers were totally fabulous, teenagers love playing tennis and using the fantastic gym.
Only, disappointment is the unfriendly, unhelpful bar attendant woman at the pool bar who lots of people commented on. Kept watching the clock before closing time and didn't really want to make cocktails as she told us she wanted to get shut (even though she had a line of customers waiting to be served). The bar is quite busy at times and really needs two people serving which could only benefit peppers and keep customers happy.
Other than that, this resort is super for families and close to the beach and shops, restaurants etc.
Will be back again!

Room Tip: Try for an apartment overlooking lagoon pool and even ground floor as access to the pool is excellen...

My family and I stayed in a one bedroom apartment lagoon view. Whilst the location of the apartment was excellent and the staff were fantastic, I can not say the same for the cleanliness of the apartment and the state of the appliances.
Apartment floor was dirty and covered in fine white sand when we arrived, I had to sweep the entire apartment. There was no bin provided in the bathroom, the bin under the sink in the kitchen was stained and dirty, the tray holding the cutlery was stained and unclean. Operating the Microwave was a guessing game as the writing to tell what button did what was completely warn off. The dining chairs make a loud screeching sound when pulled out, so if you are on the ground floor you can hear the apartment above moving their furniture. The tv remote for the main tv wasn't working and the hook that holds the blind down in the bedroom completely came out of the wall.
The shampoo bottle was only half full....
Attention to detail from housekeeping is at a low standard.
Everything else was perfect.

Room Tip: Request a room on the top floor to reduce hearing people moving about above you.

We arrived at the hotel on New Years Eve 2013 at 6pm and where totally blown away with the tropical elegance and class of the place and jumped straight into massive lagoon pool embraced by palm trees and commenced our relaxing holiday with NYE fireworks across the road on the beach. I had booked a two bedroom apartment for our family ( 2 adults and 2 teenage kids) and was not disappointed, the rooms were immaculate and the décor lovely- the main bedroom had the mini bar facilities and outdoor spa on its balcony. The kitchen was well equipped with a generous sized living space for the whole family of 4. The accommodation came with the breakfast buffet included which was an amazing start to the day with bay views over Palm Cove while sipping breakfast coffee. There where 3 pools- the lagoon pool with the sunken bar, the adjoining spa pool and the tranquillity pool which was a replica rainforest water experience- all where well kept and sun lounges where readily available. The location was central and within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops in the area. The staff where very friendly and helpful. An amazing resort!!!

Room Tip: Next time I will book rooms which have pool views.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with very friendly staff. Suite was very comfortable. The lagoon side one bedroom suite was perfect. Breakfast is very good and also poolside. Two nights wasn't enough. We loved it.

Room Tip: We recommend the lagoon side room with private swim up pontoon. Also pre book late check out.
