“Good but more 4 star than 5 star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

Stayed in a lagoon spa room for our honeymoon and found this resort good but the rooms were more 4 star standard than 5 star. Lagoon spa room was tiny however the good size bathroom and spa on the deck made up for this. Bed was also comfortable and the room kept clean. Maintenance on the room was lacking a bit with the removable shower head not properly staying in the holder so almost hit me in the head a couple of times and the shower door not shutting properly meant a flooded bathroom floor after ever shower (annoying as we were on the non-service rate for 6 days so had only limited towels). The swim up bar was great fun but drinks were quite pricey and the breakfast buffet very enjoyable but probably more a 4 star buffet than 5 star. Staff were friendly and helpful. Is located on the same street as numerous good quality restaurants so plenty of choice for dining. Be warned however if you are looking for a quiet romantic escape for 2 do not book a room near the beach style pool as there were numerous children in the pool throughout the day who at times were extremely noisy which made taking a relaxing afternoon nap impossible. Overall a pleasant stay and would stay here again.

If you are staying without children ask for The Serenity Wing. It is very quiet, the balconies have barbecues and overlook the serenity pool. This pool does not allow unsupervised children and is 50m long so if you like to swim it is perfect. The 2 bedroom suite is huge and has a full kitchen with everything you could want. They actually put a studio together with a 1 bedroom, nice! The only critiscism is the food. It is terrible, I have never had a worse breakfast. Easily fixed though, go shopping and make your own.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good. Lagoon Pool for those with kids. Serenity Wing for those without.

Dear Charlotte065,

Thank you for your kind comments.
The serenity pool area is ideal for those guests seeking peace & quiet. As we have three pools on site we feel that we can meet the needs of our guests including those wishing to build sand castles!
Thank you for your feedback on breakfast; I had a breakfast meeting this morning in our restaurant and can assure you that we have espresso and percolated coffee as well as a selection of teas avaiable every day. Fresh tropical fruit (Dragon fruit today!), Chef's 'home made' condiments and a choice of freshly prepared eggs add to our large buffet selection.

Best regards,
Chris.

Just stayed at Pepper's for 3 nights, very impressed with the whole place. We did a Wotif mystery deal so it was incredibly good value already but to our delight we were booked into a penthouse spa room. The spa's are on the balcony's looking over the fantastic lagoon pool. There were quite a lot of young families enjoying the pool - I'd definitely like to come back here with kids one day.

Loved the facilities especially the pools and the gym - all brand new equipment in a good sized, private building overlooking a great tennis court. Service was consistently good, room's were well maintained. Breakfast was nice, didn't eat at the resort otherwise as so many great options on the main drag. Location - best spot in Palm Cove, right in the middle. We had poor weather during our stay but you wouldn't know it was blowing a gale when inside the resort as it's all tucked away from the beach. Plenty of free guest parking. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Pool view penthouse spa!

Dear kc00,

Thank you for the kind feedback on our Resort.
The gym recently received all new equipment and we are receiving nothing but good news about the gym gear on offer.
As you mentioned the Resort is well protected from wind and we are glad that you discovered our little oasis!
Best regards,
Chris & team

Stayed here with my sister in April for 5 nights. Absolutely gorgeous resort. We had a one bedroom apartment which we were upgraded from a resort room for no extra cost. This was great because then we had the option of cooking our own meals etc.. Which being Palm Cove saved us alot of money.

The pool is stunning. Proberly the best Iv swam in.. I have travelled all over the world and could not say I have relaxed as much as I did while here. Its very quite - unless school holidays of course. The Restaurant Lime and Pepper was average to be honest. Quite expensive and nothing to brag about. The rooms were decked out beautifuly but could do with a touch up paint job. I will definitly be looking at coming back here.

Room Tip: One bedroom apartments were great as they have a sofa bed aswell so can be used for 2 people in sepe...

Spent 6 wonderful nights in a deluxe ground floor spa room at Pepper's Beach Club and Spa, Port Douglas.
Fabulous comfortable bed, good range of television/movie options, tea and coffee making facilities, in-room safe, ample wardrobe space, two person spa on the balcony!
The sandy bottomed lagoon pool is beautiful, and the landscaped grounds perfectly tropical.
Visiting in mid-May we were outside the school holiday period; the guest make-up was either older couples, or families with babies and toddlers. The sandy beach poolside can look like a crèche mid-morning, which is great for young families, there is a lovely raised platform nearby that serves as an 'adult only' area. Pepper's Beachclub and Spa offers something for everyone!
We were glad that we chose Pepper's over the Sheraton as Pepper's is much closer to all the restaurants and activities available on thriving Macrossan Street.

Room Tip: FIrst choice- would be a lagoon pool direct access room Second choice- a deluxe ground floor pool-s...

If your looking to unwind for a few days, this is the place. Beautiful resort! The 2 main pools are beautiful, very well maintained, very relaxing. The rooms are very clean and serviced every day.
I'd love to go back again!
My only concern was we had breakfast only once at Peppers and while we got to breakfast around 9am the buffet was not replenished and the food had been sitting there for a while. I was also surprised on how little they had to offer.
My other concern was we ordered room service one night, my meal came delivered to me cold and my husbands he couldn't eat.
Besides the experience we had with the food everything else was great!

Dear Lovetoholidayalot,

Thanks for your feedback.
Our breakast buffet will be changed and updated prior to end of this financial year. We replensih our buffet regularly; as we are limited by our floor space there can be a brief wait period.
Your comments are noted and appreciated.

Best regards,
Chris
