We booked in for a two night stay. We had an Accessible room as my Husband is wheel Chair bound. The room was spacious and immaculate. Great pizza at the bar. Breakfast was lovely lots of choices and all fresh and tasty. We will be going back that is for sure. Thank you to all the friendly helpful staff you are a credit to your positions and The Grand Chancellor.Sam was fabulous even finding us some mosquito repellant.

Room Tip: Accessible room was at the back looking over the mountains lovely quiet verandah.

My Wife and I stayed at Hotel Grand Chancellor a couple of weeks ago, As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the most polite young lady at the counter Danny who was so great! We come up from Adelaide every year to Cairns to see the sights. She helped us with booking all our tours and went out of her way to call around different companies to make sure we would be happy with what we were purchasing and also received a great quote for a 10 night stay in September. We also had the great pleasure of dealing with Amy who was also fantastic !
Thankyou Girls you really made out stay!

Also have to mention in my 32 years of eating I had some of the best food at the Hotel, everything was cooked so great and well worth paying for especially the steak we had it was cooked to perfection!

We have stayed here before through the old Novatel which was a big disappointment but since the Grand Chancellor has taken over they are kicking goals. With the fantastic new staff, the great Food & Excellent service we will recommend this Hotel to all of our family and friends

The rooms still need to be refurbished but apart from that it was a great stay.

Thankyou Again.

I am back to Melbourne after 5 days in Palm Cove. I stayed there for 5 nights.
We had a conference going on on the first couple of days. The conference center was a 2 minute walk from my room. Big spaces, a lot of daylight and the view was just stunning looking at the golf course. The event was a huge success.
The second part of my stay was incredible. My wife and kids arrived on friday to join me. The drive from the Cairns airport is less than 30minutes to the hotel. I had a beautiful 1 bedroom apartment, with a full kitchen for myself, but when the whole family came, they just opened the door of the interconnecting room and it became a 2 bedroom apartment. Genius. Very quiet and the birds would sing all day long, just like you are in the middle of the tropical forest, but inside the air conditioning.
It rains for 5 minutes, than the sun comes out. Than the rain comes again, and you see the most amazing double rainbow on top of the swimming pool.
The high moment was our day at the Great Barrier reef, where we went for the diving and all the activities.
I can't wait to repeat the whole thing with my family. Loved it.

Stayed for 4 nights last week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were all friendly and accomodating. Room was nice - we stayed in a standard suite, so the lesser rooms may not be as nice. Breakfast was fine, standard fayre on offer and plenty of it.
Hotel seems to mainly cater for tour groups and maybe some business persons, there were a few holidaymakers staying when we were there but not many. But we liked this as it made the hotel nice and quiet and not crowded.
Location is good, it is a 5 min walk to the beach and the few bars/restaurants.
Swimming pool was nice too.
Only slight moan was maybe a smell of mustiness in our ground floor suite, but didnt bother us and reduced after we had stayed a night. But overall a winner for £85 a night including breakfast and was a perfect base for exploring the far north of QLD.
Keep up the good work!

Stayed here to celebrate a night out in Palm Cove from Cairns. I did book a mystery room through wotif, as I though it was just a bed for the night and couldn't be too bad and didn't expect much.
The room was basically clean - but very loud from noise of slamming gate to the pool right near my front door - but was OK as would only sleep here and not expecting much - about an hour after arriving, became very cold in the room but could not find a temperature control - rang reception and was advised this type of room had no temperature control - to open the door (defeats the purpose and security risk on ground floor). I asked if I could move to a room where temperature could be controlled as was now freezing. Advised that only suites had temperature control. Although I found this beyond belief I had to pay for a suite for temperature that was bearable to stay in. Apart from this the hotel is old, chipped and dated fixtures and furnishings - location is a fair hike to the main section of Palm Cove - in summary there are a lot better choices in Palm Cove.

Great staff, great hotel. The perfect place to stay to explore the tropical north.
As most hotels are quite expensive in Palm Cove this was the right price point for our little family getaway.
The are two pools, a small bar and restaurant on site however lots of other options just a short walk from the hotel.
