Very friendly and informative staff on our arrival. We were told our ticket included an extra 2 days if we were unable to see all the attractions.Saw all the animals we expected. The croc show was awesome only problem was the comentator was very hard to hear and she lacked enthusiasm .The free flight bird show was amazing. The reptile house needs a bit of an update. The birds were wonderful to see and so many varieties. Going again today to see the bird show again.$34.00 entry fee for adults.
Up close experience with Crocs and Koalas. Kids loved the Handling sessions and Photos. Was great to see that after the Paid photos and holding session they allowed Mums and Dads to also take the same photos with their own cameras.
A bit more money needs to be spent on general maintenance issues and possibly a bit of a spruce up.
Highly recommended.
We come a few times a year for the kids to have a day out but find there isn't enough interactive programs for kids and the cafe is overpriced. Sad to see it aimed at the tourists... we just started to pack a picnic which in the end is lovely out on the greens and sometimes we have the wallabies join us. Just don't feed them human food!
Value for money. Up close experiences, including a fun birds of prey presentation. $20 for photo holding a koala was worth it. Took a morning to visit. Was told it was small and not worth it. Don't believe it. Locals probably just want you to go to the expensive night zoo experience (which has bbq dinner and bush dance included). If you want to see animals, the Cairns Tropical Zoo is great.
We enjoyed looking about at the usual animal displays. We caught the snake show which was fun and found the young chap who took the show very animated and interesting.
This zoo was great, walking through and being able to stroke and feed the kangaroos was so surreal, the animals had places they could go if they wanted to get away from the visitors which was great.
We held Buster, the koala and had our picture taken. Staff were always around and happy to answer questions :)
