“Excellent value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012 via mobile

We stayed at this hotel on Christmas Day and Boxing Day to be near to family. Most of the B & Bs were closed on Christmas Day, and the one that was open was charging £120 a night.
This Premier Inn proved to be an excellent alternative at only £29 a night plus about £6 for continental or £8 for full English breakfast.
The room was spacious, clean and very comfy. The heating was easy to operate and very efficient. The bed was extremely comfortable. We even had a view of the sea over the fields!
The bathroom was roomy, the shower good, with Imperial Leather shower gell. There were sufficient towels ( 2 bath and 2 hand ) which were changed daily. There was a hairdrier and tea and coffee facilities. We really couldnt fault it.
Meals are taken in the adjoining Brewers Fayre. We only had breakfasts, but these were very good. Plenty of choice and in pleasant surroundings. The staff throughout our stay were friendly and helpfull. We had a problem with our remote control which was immediately rectified. We made use if the 30mins free wi fi per day. It would only ave been £3 for 24 hours, but we didn't need that.
We will definitely go back again, and hope that the £29 a night rate will still be available.

The strength of this hotel is its staff. Always friendly and helpful. Stayed with whole family over chrtsmas (2 adults and 2 children). At £29 per night prebooked, pretty good bargain!! Only problem was breakfast at the attached Brewers fayre. Cooked breakfast some very dry items and the beans looked the cheapest quality you can get. Restaurant staff tried to resolve problem but unfortunately sometimes when you can't cook, you just can't. Premier inn staff helpful in cancelling our prebooked breakfast for the following day and arranging the refund. For dinner suggest a very good Indian just past weatherspoons in Whitehaven.

Fantastic 3 night stay, great customer service, friendly staff and great surroundings. The pub next door offers good food at reasonable prices the only downfall if any was a couple of the breakfast items could have been of better quality but with the variety and the kids eat free it was still worth the £16.50 for the 4 of us. Great value especially if you can get a saver rate room.

This hotel offered very reasonable rates when compared to any other B&B or small hotels in this area. Staff were very helpful and attentive, the room was very clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. Didn't need anything else for our overnight stay.
Good value for money if you look out for special offers.

This premier inn is on a hillside with the restaurant being at the bottom of the hill, in a separate building. There is a separate accommodation block with both ground and first floor bedrooms. No lift. No telephone in room so you have to go back downstairs if you need to contact reception. The building can only be accessed by using room card, as can the lights in the room. Can be inconvenient when you are only given one card which means that one person cannot stay in the room if the other wants to go for a drink in the bar. When we enquired about booking a table for a meal we were told by the receptionist that she had been told she couldn't book any tables until after 8pm but didn't know why. However when we went for a drink at 6.30 we were given a table within 5 minutes.

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at our hotel.

At Premier Inn we always strive to provide customers with everything they need to have a comfortable stay, and I apologise that on this occasion we have failed to do this.

Most of our Premier Inn sites are equipped with full disabled facilities, including wet-rooms, though some older sites are still in need of updating.

We do however state the available facilities on our website, and would advise customers to contact the hotel to check availability.

Once again thank you for your review, we hope to welcome you back to Premier Inn in the future.

Good hotel, what you would expect from a Premier Inn. It has been refurbed so nice big widescreen tv, new carpets etc. Also a bonus, plug socket by the bed (silly thing for me, but when your mobile is your alarm, hate that cold feeling of getting out of bed in the morning) Yes the room wasnt the warmest, had to keep adjusting the tempature but not too bothered about that. Yes it did keep clicking as someone has written previously but not loud or anything.
Staff were friendly and welcoming every time i came in and out of hotel.
The pub attahced was also very friendly, staff were welcoming and polite, Think if you received bad service maybe that said more about the person rather than the staff as I spent 3 days there and ate breakfast and my evening meal (not a lot more choice in Whitehaven) and every time I went in the staff were lovely and friendly. Only thing I would say is I have stayed in a few Premier Inn's of late and they are all pretty much Brewer's Fayres, so the menu is the same, which can get boring. I dont like the buffett option, so reduces your choice, but only slight critism.

I booked seven rooms for a group of fourteen, they were all clean well furnished with comfy beds and large screen televisions, not that we had time to watch them. The only drawback was the Brewers Fayre restaurant attached. You had to go outside to access it. The weather was just OK had it been raining we would have been wet through. BF unable to agree to serve us as a group, see other review. Would use again.
