We found this hotel excellent. The rooms clean and comfortable. The views of the viaduct and the gorge are spectacular, especially at night when it is lit up. We watched a full moon rise under the viaduct from the dining room till it reached it's height above the iron work, very beautiful.
We chose the half board option through Logis de France at a cost of 105E a night for 2 people in one room. It was excellent. The alacarte menu was very tempting too as we looked at the other diners. The cheese course is a cheese trolley with several different cheeses of the region - yummy!
Although we do not speak French, we tried and had a good time "speaking" with the staff, all of whom were very patient with us. Lovely Ladies who smiled with genuine warmth all during the times they were serving you.
Breakfast was plentiful and very filling. The choice, cereals, boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurts from a buffet and breads and croissants brought to the table.
I saw dogs allowed too.
We will definitey go back to this hotel either as a several day stay to look at the beautiful area or as a stop over when driving through France.
The hotel is easy to reach off the motorway (A75), sortie 30 or 31. When you come off the motorway, it is possible to drive down through the gorge. You will see other hotels, we were pleased that we picked this one.
Shame it's shut from November to April tho.
I am writing this review some time after my stay (I had written in the Garabit forum earlier). Because the hotel and the area has stayed so favourably in my thoughts I asked tripadvisor to enter this hotel so I could write the review. We hope to go back for a stay this summer.
