What a fantastic hotel overlooking a beautiful golf course! We stayed in the two bedroom apartment (that was all that was left) as part of the SA Shorts package, which included 2 nights accomodation, a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in the room, a three-course dinner at Baudin's restaurant on one night and a picnic basket for lunch on one day.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay at a 5 star quality hotel, just don't expect too much from the restaurant. We dined at Baudin's in August 2009 and it was an elegant dining experience which I would expect from some of the finer restaurants in Adelaide, let alone a hotel near Victor Harbor. However going back in February 2012 and Baudin's has become a family dining area with closer to a pub menu (printed and laminated on A3 paper!!). What's worse is they have a Clubhouse Bistro within spitting distance where they could house the families with young children or those looking for a more casual dining experience, and left Baudin's as the classy restaurant it was.
It truly is a shame as our experience there was only let down by our dining experience at Baudin's, but it was such a let down.More
