First of all Marzia, the owner, is the best. She is french. She is amazing with her customers. We stayed here for two nights and definitely would recommend staying here. The rooms are cute. The grounds are amazing. The beach is a mile long in each direction. The food is the best part. I recommend having dinner here every night. This is a very romantic colonial style house.it is very well maintained. Every detail is perfect.

Room Tip: The two rooms above the breakfast area are the best.

We went there for a week end trip and it was PERFECT, close to the beach with a real sense of privacy (the beach was almost empty) within nature (no crowded lounge chairs, just sea, sand and wind). Our 2 year old enjoyed his time very much (the place offers a lot of toys to play on the beach for children), playing a bit in the sea, a beat in the sand, and a lot in the swimming pool. The food is amazing, Marzia is a very good cook. It's almost like being in your dream cottage on the beach, except you're fully taken care of (and you have to pay, of course).

I want to say also that I read another comment on the place which is not fully accurate. Prices are given all taxes included, and a night is 5,500 pesos dominicanos, that is roughly 145 USD. What you do need to add up is 20 USD per night if you wish to use the AC, and 42 USD for the "surprise dinner" (I guess menu is changing from time to time hence the "surprise", we had a shell close to lobster, very nice and perfectly cooked), which does not include wine. But the food is good and you can give a small drive to Las Terrenas if you prefer something less fancy for dinner.
I also read about wasps, there are no wasps on that beach. There are sometimes on a very precise moment about 5 pm when there is no wind small insects that can sting (a bit like mosquitoes). But as long as you avoid the beach on that particular moment it's fine. We had NO insects because it was windy, and I guess this is part of enjoying this paradise bit of nature...

Go make your own opinion, you won't regret it !

We spent a week at Casa Coson in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. It was absolutely delightful. The beach is practically deserted and one can walk for probably a mile in each direction. The hotel is small, quaint, sparkling clean, and charming. The couple who runs the hotel are equally as charming as the hotel. The downside for some might be that they are fluent in French, Italian and Spanish but not in English. However, that's a small price to pay for such an exquisite get away...far from the crowds. We ventured into towns when we wanted a change of pace and after each adventure we found ourselves delighted all over again that we were staying outside of town! The town beaches were much dirtier with bottles, cans, food trash, cigarette butts, etc., and had a greater incline so weren't as comfortable for lying around. Lastly, the food was scrumptious. A hot breakfast is complimentary with the price of the room but Casa Coson also has a restaurant with a good selection of continental food.

We have been for four nights in casacoson. The hotel is right on the beach, it is so beautiful I can not even describe it. We expect a beautiful place and we sure got it. The perfect honeymoon.

What we didn't expect is the fantastic food and the amazing treatment we got from Marzia. She is an amazing lady that have brought the quality french kitchen the the Caribbean. The surprise menu dinner is perfect. It is very expensive, yes, but its amazing.

If you want a getaway, this is the place. Enjoy

We had the plan to stay for 5 days at the Casa coson. A nice smal hotel closed to the beach. We went there as this place has good recommendation in tripadviser. The rooms were very smal but clean. Bathroom very smal. 150$ plus 26% tax is really expensive for what you get!! Outside and specially at the beach, there thousane of whesps. Dangerous to Walk on the beach, dangerous to stay with kids at the pool or beach. As the village is far away you have to eat at the hotel. They offer a surprice menue, we had a smal cup of gazpacho, as peace of port meat with gratin and at the end chocolate mouse. 42$ plus 26% per person. No drinks included. As for us the price was to high for what we got we desided to leave the hotel the day after. On the bill we got charged with 170$ plus 26% tax. With other words we feeled ripped of in any corner! We do not recommend this place!

My husband and I were looking for a quiet relaxing get a away and Case Coson delivered in so many ways. The miles of beautiful beaches all to our selves, the a amazing fresh food, and the wonderful attention to details by our host and owners Marzia and Ivan. The cafe has great fresh fish and amazing pizza made in their wood burning oven. A car is a most as it will let you explore the area that is full of amazing sites. Go for one night or for a hole week the experience will be great.

This is probably the best small boutique hotel I have stayed in in the Dominican Republic. The very friendly French owners try their best to make the stay a pleasant one, the grounds are very well kept, as are the rooms. One of the nicest beaches out there as well! The stay was an absolute pleasure.
