This is the first installment on our review of this hotel. We arrive yesterday and are enjoying it very much. As a first observation, the grounds are very pleasurable to look at and the overall layout seems very nice and quiet. Not many people here although when we were doing the booking, we were told that it was already almost full.
Two major issues (for us) The bed had a plastic mattress cover which was extremely noisy and crinkley to lay on, not to speak of being not allowing your body to breath. After an hour or so of attempted sleep, we stripped the sheets off and removed the mattress cover. It was simply too annoying. By the way, the bed creaks noisily when we rolled over....
Second: There are virtually no cooking utensils in the unit. Don't know which unit the previous reporter stayed in, but making supper was an incredible chore. No bowls, no sharp knives, few cooking utensils. No toaster. So making our meals here for the next 3 weeks will really be challenging unless management manages to find us the normal expected cooking equipment. No basics such as salt and pepper, soap, paper towels, cloth towels or other normal everyday items for cooking. We're guessing that people staying here never cooked here and just went out for supper to the highly overpriced restaurants in Las Terranas. The restaurant prices are the same as any first world country. Guess the restauranteurs saw a good opportunity to make huge profit from all the Europeans living here........ and took advantage of it.
