“loved it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

The location and grounds to Playa Colibri were breathtaking. The palms and fauna were gorgeous. The pool and whirlpool were relaxing under the moonlit sky with warm breezes coming off the Ocean at night. While the rooms were a little dated, they were clean and a great value. We were much too busy hanging out to spend much time in the rooms though. Took motorcycle rides into town, or walked along the beach. It's not right in the middle of town, so thee is some quiet. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room upstairs so you eat on the deck overlooking the grounds.

Nice residence just in front of beach, very lovely apartment and very kind staff always ready to help us as we had some problem with AC. I reccomend this place and I can just regret with the included breakfast not so assorted and yummy as I hoped!! Overall good place to stay!!!

Loved the peaceful, quiet location. The hotel is right on the beach and the pool is wonderful. The rooms were spacious, decorated nicely, and very clean. We liked eating breakfast at the beachfront restaurant, but the service was slow. We think they need more staff there. The food was good. Overall, we had an excellent stay and will recommend Colibri to friends visiting the Dominican Republic.

Just got back from a 1 wk stay at Hotel Playa Colibri. Wonderful place to stay, grounds quite nice,
and right across road from Playa Colibri. The staff was very helpful when my purse was snatched
along w / credit & debit cards, & keys to room & safe. Wished it had not been necessary but they were prompt on getting us back into our room. It was not until next morning locks were actually
replaced. They have excellent armed security on patrol from dark to sunrise. Room comes w/ wi-fi
I would say right now infrastructure is not keeping up w/growth, as all the air tools & other construction gear caused numerous daytime outages, which is not hotel's fault. A/C however does not come back on automatically after outages, so if you were gone all day rooms were a little warm. We stopped by room couple times a day just to ck on situation. It still was a great trip, since it had been 111f. when we left home beach ocean pool and staff were excellent. Also the good market everyone tells you about is Lindo's, & is in same shopping center as ScotiaBank!

This apartment-hotel has a fine vibe for mixing foreign and local folks in a comfortable and informal style. The terraces in front make for open living; the air conditioned bedrooms in back make for privacy. The grounds are well-kept. The small beach restaurant (where complementary breakfast is served) extends your living space to the ocean front. Staff is prompt, friendly, and seem as glad to be here as you are. The office staff is very helpful...Andre can help you out in English, Spanish, Russian, French and German...try them all. Units on the second floor provide a view on activities and greenery.

Room Tip: Go for the units with balcony on the 2nd floor...both one and two bedrooms are fine. The front kitc...

We stayed for the second time in two years in this lovely hotel. The appartments are very nice, spacious and clean with a tasteful decoration all in Caribean colours. The staff is very friendly and helful. The beach is beautiful and the cleanest and best maintained part of Las Terrenas. It is a quiet place and just a short ride on a motoconcho from the restaurants, shops and bars in Las Terrenas. We hope to return soon!
