“A relaxing tropical oasis close to beautiful beachfront and the bustling downtown of Las Terrenas.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

I recently stayed here with three friend's of mine and we could not be happier that we chose this hotel. From the second we checked in, we felt like we were in paradise. The pictures on the website do not do this hotel justice as it is way more picturesque in person. Our room was also very clean and spacious with fresh flowers carefully placed throughout the bedrooms. We had a large balcony overlooking the pool and beach that contained both a dining table, lounge chairs, and coffee table. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a plethora of fresh juices, eggs made to order, fresh pastries, and the best damn coffee! Each morning, we started our day eating breakfast on the balcony overlooking the sea. One of the best parts about the hotel was the staff. They could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Joanna at the front desk checked in with us daily to make sure we were enjoying our stay and also helped us plan our daily excursions. Not only was the hotel amazing but so was it's location. It is a central location between two downtown areas that are both walking distance from the hotel and across the street from the beach. Overall, I was extremely impressed and satisfied with my experience here and most definitely want to come back! I highly recommend staying at albiachara to anyone visiting Las Terrenas.

We had an overnight mini vacation on April 13-14, 2013. The hotel is truly charming with an excellent location across to street from a beautiful beach and closeby to shops and a very well know night club, La Bodega, where we danced until the early morning hours. The hotel room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff on premise gave us a warm welcome on arrival and were very courteous. Hotel services were excellent. As residents, living in Santo Domingo, we have traveled extensively throughout the island. This hotel is one special getaway not to be missed !.

We were there from Mr 2 - 9, 2013. The hotel/residence is directly across the street from the beach and within walking distance to lots of good restaurants and shops. The beach is small but very good. Beach chaises and towels aplenty. The street is no problem crossing. The hotel units we had was a 2 br, 2 bath with kitchen and balcony and was excellent, not luxurious, but very nice. Cleaned beautifully every day. Breakfast buffet is excellent with sufficient variation and choice. Best of all is the friendly service and total welcoming atmosphere, especially as done by Joanna and Carlos. They are great!

Excellent hotel for the price. Enjoyed being across the street from beach, fish market & in the center of the hustle of scooters & shops & activity. Kitchenette well equipped. Excellent housekeeping including washing dishes & scrubbing porch and sidewalk. Front desk staff friendly & helpful. Hot breakfast buffet had nice selections and wonderful service with ocean view. Pool and surrounding area beautiful. However, what could have been a tropical paradise was tarnished by the "in your face" business exchanges between the older male guests & their young women visitors. Several times, we saw a young male approach an older male with a phone. After the older male chatted on the phone, we could see money exchanged. A short time later, a young woman would arrive, spend some time with the older gentleman at the pool & then go into a room. A few times the younger woman would arrive with children who would play with other children on the grounds or in the pool while the younger woman was in the room with the older gentleman. Although we were never approached directly and we always felt safe, it was unsettling for us to say the least. We do understand different cultures have different views on this type of business, but we still find it difficult to understand how this property receives so many rave reviews from families. We found it increasingly difficult to enjoy the beautiful hotel and service because of this and by our last day, we were eager to depart.

Very nice and clean place. As soon as we got there, we were welcomed like family. Came here with my wife, 3 year old and her parents. It's a very quiet place, which we loved. The pool was clean and not crowded at all. If you're more of a beach person, all you have to do is cross the street. We booked a 3 bedroom and we had more than enough space. Don't forget to do some of the many fun activities such as whale watching(when it's in season), four wheeling, can forget to recommend El Limon waterfall.

Room Tip: Ask for Josefina and telling her you would like to see a few rooms before you choose one. She'll...

Best place I have ever experienced in all my trips to DR. Very tranquil and family oriented. I found the best restaurants around and best thing of all affordable. I came with my parent, husband and daughter and I can wait to come back. We plan to come back with a Group of friends. Oh and the have many excursions which we did go to El Salto del Limon

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 16 months baby boy. The place is nice and very quiet and relaxing. The apartment was clean . We had a king size bed , very confortable. Air condicioner and Tv on the room, not the living room/kitchen but nit need it at this time of the year. They have ceiling fans in all rooms and the front porch; very pleasant.

The staff is nice and always looking to accomodate us. They clean the room every day.

Only complaint may be the location in a very busy street but there are a lot of restaurants near by and beautiful beaches at walking distance.
