Excellent hotel for the price. Enjoyed being across the street from beach, fish market & in the center of the hustle of scooters & shops & activity. Kitchenette well equipped. Excellent housekeeping including washing dishes & scrubbing porch and sidewalk. Front desk staff friendly & helpful. Hot breakfast buffet had nice selections and wonderful service with ocean view. Pool and surrounding area beautiful. However, what could have been a tropical paradise was tarnished by the "in your face" business exchanges between the older male guests & their young women visitors. Several times, we saw a young male approach an older male with a phone. After the older male chatted on the phone, we could see money exchanged. A short time later, a young woman would arrive, spend some time with the older gentleman at the pool & then go into a room. A few times the younger woman would arrive with children who would play with other children on the grounds or in the pool while the younger woman was in the room with the older gentleman. Although we were never approached directly and we always felt safe, it was unsettling for us to say the least. We do understand different cultures have different views on this type of business, but we still find it difficult to understand how this property receives so many rave reviews from families. We found it increasingly difficult to enjoy the beautiful hotel and service because of this and by our last day, we were eager to depart.
