“Paradise in the desert!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here on a work trip and it was the highlight of our week! After a 16 hour journey from Shimla by road, plane and more road past camels, dust carts and into rural Rajasthan we were greeted by an army of smiles, singing and welcomes. The pool villas are simply stunning, the spa treatments awesome and the food and wine gorgeous. Our day out to the nearby medieval ruins, yoga and camel ride into the evening with a village visit was the best day of the week. I would love to go back and spend much longer at Amanbagh. Thank you to Harish and his team for superb hosting.

Amanbagh is one of the finest holiday resorts I can think of.
Sitaram, the naturalist at Amanbagh actually opened my eyes to the gorgeous world of nature.
Its near Amanbagh that i first saw Spotted owlets nestled in the hollow of a tree.

I also recall our loyal escort, TItlii, the dog.

Was there several years ago, unfortunately am unable to put the precise date.

Gorgeous property.
Wonderful memories.

Room Tip: we had a room with a pool to ourselves. strongly recommended.

Stayed here in late October 2012 for 4 nights....wonderful hospitality from the staff and manager.
This was the third Aman we have stayed in and Amanbagh follows the methodology and themes from the others we have stayed in....understated luxury, wonderful service and embracing the local area and people.

Thoroughly recommended and although set away from Jaipur itself, it is a great little hideaway and place to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of the main town.

After a drive over some rather rough roads, you arrive at Amanbagh...an oasis north of Jaipur.
It is beautiful, quiet and absolute luxury. It can be restful or you can take some of the excursions offered to see some wonderful sites...Bangarh Fort being my favorite.
Service and food is amazing.

Room Tip: Every room appears wonderful, but the Pool Pavilions offer your own private pool and luxurious space...

We had read great things about Amanbagh, so our expectations were high upon arrival. I am very pleased to report that our lofty expectations were dramatically surpassed.
The staff of 200+ have been superbly trained to attend to every whim of the guests in the 36 accommodations. Our trip was during low season, and the resort was 10% occupancy, so needless to say we were well taken care of. 80% of the staff come from local villages, and taught the Aman style of service as well as english by the resort. The local pride and knowledge that the staff display is a key ingredient to the unique charm of Amanbagh.
We stayed in a pool pavilion for our 3 night visit, these stunning detached units feature a lovely private garden with marble wading pool, magnificent bathroom, and spacious living quarters. Every time we left our unit for even a short time someone was by to refresh the unit.
Numerous local day trips allow you to truly experience rural Rajasthan. We visited the local hindu temple for evening prayers, took a private "cowdust tour" of local villages and farmers, and visited the haunted city of Bhangagh. Each with a wonderful local guide who catered to our every whim.
On two nights we treated ourselves to private dinners, one at our pavilion garden, and an offsite in an ancient pavilion formerly used by travelling Maharaja. Both evening were best in a lifetime memories. Our dining area was draped, and adorned with spectacular artwork prepared with fresh flower petals, music was provided by a very talented Sitar player, and the food was world class, with a wide variety of western and indian cuisine. Most produce comes from the onsite organic garden.
The spa was up to any 5 star standard offering a wide range of treatment alternatives.
While accommodation at Amanbagh is premium priced, we were pleased to discover that food, spa, offsite activities, and unique options like private dinners were not outrageously priced.
For the first time since opening in 2004, the resort has an Indian general manager. Harish Nair was schooled in the Aman philosophy at resorts in Philippines and Greece before accepting the top post here 1 month ago. His style and orientation is perfect for this wonderful paradise, and his influence on the resort over time will surely only improve on excellence.
Forgive the excessive raving...but we've been blessed to have been pampered and spoiled on many occasions in the past...and Amanbagh is truly an Indian jewel that we will return to.

It is nearly impossible to explain how perfect and wonderful our stay here was! We were upgraded to a Terrace Haveli and were so pleased we had been as the Courtyard Haveli we selected whilst lovely would have felt rather claustrophobic to our taste. If you want total privacy with no fear of being seen then it would be perfect!

We both felt that the room we had was one of the loveliest we have ever stayed in. The staff were all amazing - so kind and caring of our every need. The spa is fantastic with wonderful treatments.

We wish we had had longer there as whilst the resort is in a remote location there are a good selection of trips organised and I would have liked to go on them. An excuse to return?!
