“Fantastic Resort with great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2011

I was fortunate enough to attend a conference at the Hyatt Coolum recently and the only disappointing aspect was having to spend most of the day inside working. The 2 bedroom villa was very comfortable and had a pleasant view over the golf course. The spa treatment was wonderful and the food was delicious. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The stay at this resort was all too short and I look forward to returning for a longer stay in future

The room at the resort are getting old and run down.
The advertived 10 min shuttle bus to get you around the resort ( which is needed as every thing is a long way from every thing) only runs "when it can" we waited more than half an hour and ended getting a lift on the laundry cart.

We stayed in a recently renovated Golf Villa which we could not fault. We were there the week of the storms/floods but staff made sure there was plenty to do indoors even for teenagers. We had the most delightful, friendly and efficient waitress at breakfast each morning. No matter how busy the breakfast room was Christine always had time to stop and have a chat.
Many of the staff struggled to get to work because of road closures, some had families who lost everything but they still put guests first.
The cocktail waiter at Bruschetta was a cocktail encyclopaedia and made the best Long Island Iced Tea!
It was hard to fault any aspect of the resort and hard to comprehend the resilience of the staff when many were facing extreme stresses due to the weather, but never faulted in their service.

We visited Noosa to escape Melbourne's unusually cold weather. We choose the Hyatt because we had spend the previous weekend at the Park Hyatt in Sydney and loved it! The overseas friend who was also traveling with us was staying at the Park Hyatt Melbourne in a gorgeous suite and we thought we should give the Hyatt ago. Big mistake!

The rooms are large, but very old and dated. The bathroom was simply awful, the decor looked like it belonged in the early 80's.

As if this wasn't enough, the service was simply abominable! Front desk, operator, the restaurants.....these people must have had way too much sun, because they certainly don't believe in doing anything in a timely manner.

We stayed here for over a week and have mixed feelings if we would stay again. There are some individuals that go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure your stay is a great one but there are a number of staff that do less than the bear minimum.

The good bits have been the Camp Hyatt for the kids and the activities centre. My kids have had a great time. The Spa facilities and treatmens are fabulous. The room is very good, we have stayed in a 2 bed villa. The housekeeping ladies are lovely.

The buffet breakfast is ok but some staff are prompt and attentive and other days they are too busy seting tables to clear your plates or see if you would like another coffee. Service staff at the Noodles restaurant were busy fixing till tapes rather than taking our order when the kitchen staff were standing idle and there are only two tables occupied in the restaurant. I had to go to the desk to ask for our order to be taken..

Getting around the resort is best done on foot. There is a shuttle service that supposedly runs every ten minutes. When it is teaming with rain and there are no umbrellas to be found then the shuttle is your only mode of transport unless you don't mind getting wet. We found the shuttle service to be lacking at times. Again there are some staff that will go the extra mile and then the ones that you remember the most are when you are left standing in the rain waiting for over 15 minutes. It took us over half and hour to get back to our room after breakfast one morning.

The great service seems to consistently come from the more mature members of staff and I'm not sure if it is an influx of young, holiday casuals working towards the Christmas rush but it is consistently the younger team members that just don't seem to know what it takes to ensure it is even just a pleasant stay.

Stayed here again, my third time, this time for a conference.

I got the 'conference rate' which meant I got one of the tired King Guest Rooms, not nearly as impressive as a Villa Suite but still a large room. Does need an upgrade and I think Hyatt knows that. The rainshower in the bathroom felt fabulous though.

The conference facilities were great.

What remains great is the service. The pick up and drop off by golf buggy to the room is much appreciated. The driver stopped the buggy and carried all of my luggage up the stairs and into the room.

Although it was a busy time, the check in staff were calm, friendly and efficient.

The spa is new and I wish I had had the time to try it as all the Hyatt spas are great.

The best service part was when I left my coat and dress in the room. Carol from housekeeping could not have been more helpful. I received it bundled beautifully in the post by Hyatt within two days of reaching home.

Thank you, Hyatt, as always, the service was terrific.
