“Excellent accomodations two blocks from the downtown.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2010

The room was brand new with all the amenities. Everything was very clean. The room we used had only one queen bed, but it was three of us in our traveling party. The Crawford family was very accomodating and brought out a comfortable mattress for us to use. I would definitely recommend this place for a couple. It is a short walk into the town.

We stayed at Crawfords 10 days after it opened. Our room was really stylish and comfortable and the Crawfords were warm and friendly hosts. Crawfords is well located a minutes' stroll from the centre of Arrowtown, with its fantastic French bakery, great restaurants and bars and stunning walks. Highly recommended!!

A clarification for this and the previous reviews: We took over a property which was known as OLD NICK in another life, at the beginning of 2010. At the time it has not traded as a B&B for a while. We have totally rebuilt the guest accommodation in an upgrade and relaunched the business as 'CRAWFORDS'. Whilst these reviews are favourable (other than a photo attached to one review which is no longer representative), we feel it is important to clarify.

We stayed three nights at the Old Nick Arrowtown in the smallest of the three rooms. Although it was cosy it was more than adequate for two people. We stayed here for a quieter location than Queenstown and it's only a two minute walk to the main street.
Arrowtown itself is an interesting place with enough bars and eating places to keep you happy for a few days.and only a fifteen minute drive into Queenstown.
what made the Old Nick special were the owners with Lianne who looks after the guests with the rest of the family young and old, a fantastic host not intrusive but could not do enough for you if you wanted anything whatsoever. Breakfast if you take it is in the family kitchen, really made to feel welcome, if ever get to to go back to NZ would definitely stay again

The Old Nick is essentially a motel (three rooms in a separate building next to the house the owners live in) . The rooms are very well presented and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. Clearly they take a lot of pride in the place.

The rooms are not large but are very comfortable and the furnishings are of a very high standard for the room rate that is charged. We stayed in Room 2, which was very cosy. The other rooms looked similar.

The Old Nick is located about 5 minutes walk from the main street in Arrowtown, so is perfectly located.

Overall, a great value place to stay. Highly recommended.
