Well, what can I say about the Bluestone Motor Inn? This is the worst place I have ever stayed, which is saying a lot, as being a frequent traveller I have seen some pretty underwhelming places.
The rooms which look small on the outside are even tinier on the inside and are way out of date. The interior is musty smelling and tatty. There is no cupboard to say, except for one piece of wood and the wall with a pole between the two making a makeshift cupboard that looks poorly constructed and once again tatty.
The airconditioning system is the room was old and really, really loud. It was hard to fall asleep at night as the continual buzzing and humming was incessant.
Travellers like to stay in a motel and charge their phone/computers overnight so that items such as these can be used on the road the next day. This room was well under resourced, with a single powerpoint being used by the old style aircon, and a double plug being taken up by the tiny tv and even smaller, aged fridge.
Having bought dinner at a near by restaurant I was once again disappointed in this motel as there was no crockery nor cutlery supplied, leaving me with no means of enjoying my food. The Bluestone Motor Inn attributes this lack of supplies to having a kitchen/restaurant which is not well enough stocked itself, meaning that rooms can not be supplied such items.
Also, although small condiments, such as tea, coffee and sugar sachets were provided the tea bags were not individually wrapped and had even been used - disgusting does not begin to describe that.
Now I am bought to the bathroom, which so help me, was the worst part of the entire place. The small bathroom was well outdated and terribly dirty with a broken bin, broken tiles and mould appearing on the roof above the shower as there was no extractor fan. Although the Motor Inn says the bathroom's state is due to a calcium problem in which the tiles cannot be cleaned, with a simple scuff of my shoe, the scum covering the floor budged and began to wipe away. Clearly the Bluestone Motor Inn should investigate getting better cleaners, or improving their cleaning techniques. CLR would easily clean the calcium off of the tiles and shower head, making the bathroom slightly more appealing. After begrudgingly having had a shower, I felt dirtier then when I got in.
I would not recommend the Bluemotor Inn to other travellers, but rather any of the other motels in town. Either that, or perhaps bypassing this small town altogether for a nicer town - I know I will stay at Renner Springs next time I do the trip from Adeliade to Darwin as having stopped their for breakfast the next day, I was pleasantly surprised with the place.
Give it a miss - not worth the money. Also, the beds are lumpy.
