We absolutely loved Longitude. Yes, It's really, really expensive, but it was worth it! From the moment we were picked up at the airport with a friendly, smiling welcome until we left, we enjoyed it all. Should note that the exorbitant price covers everything - all the food (and whatever you ask the kitchen to make whenever you want it), all the booze (and trust me, my husband did his best to get our money's worth), all the tours. Amazing service, excellent food, and the "tents" were terrific - huge views of Uluru Rock and nothing but the rock. Remote controls in the bed headboard to raise and lower the shades for a sunset or sunrise view of the Rock. Wonderful dinner under the stars, followed by amazing stargazing using their telescopes. Lots of extras, from warm ponchos (useful for sunrise hikes), robes and slippers, Bose CD player and CDs, flashlights, shoe brushes outside the door. We were met at the end of a sunset hike by staff serving us champagne, cheese and figs - lots of extras like that.

Longitude 131 has almost everything going for it to justify its extremely high price tag. The fundamental thing that is lacking is service. Please realize the resort is located literally in the middle
of nowhere. Accordingly, Voyages has a hard time retaining seasoned high caliber help at the resort. For the price tag, the service should have been better. The staff consists of individuals in their late teens to early twenties. They try hard, but at a resort with this price tag Voyages would do well to create a staff of more seasoned people. Breakfast orders never came back correctly. Requests
for snacks for the room, etc. went unanswered. Staff lacked poise and
confidence in communicating with us.

Now . . . all of that being said, Longitude 131 is like no place I've
ever been. Lying in your tent with the shades up looking at the rock is absolutely incredible. Accomodations in the tent rival that of any
5 star hotel I've stayed in anywhere in the world. Excellent wine selection all included in the one price. Dinner under the stars followed by listening to the astronomer was a once in a lifetime experience. This is the only resort in Uluru where you have a view of
the rock from the actual resort.

If Voyages could get some highly trained staff who were self confident and comfortable dealing with guests, they would have something truly unique on their hands.

If you want an experience of a life time then Longitude 131 is for you. Only 30 guests are able to stay at one time at this wonderful location. Your views of Ayers Rock are so spectacular you will not believe it with the most beautiful sun rise and sunsets. This is an all exclusive hotel, the rooms are tents not like your have ever stayed in. Fully air-condition with amenities of a well stock bar and bathrooms at will make your heart stop. The windows have shades that give you the privacy you want, however you will want to enjoy the view of Ayers Rock all the time. You even get a chance to dine under the stars if you want to. You will want at least two night stay to take in all the sights. Free tours to Ayers Rock are included and other tours are available if you want to take the time to do so. They have an open bar in the main lodge with some to the finest wines from Australia and around the world.

I had always wanted to return to Uluru and stay at this resort.
I returned with my future husband as part of a pre wedding holiday.
I had previously visited Uluru during the summer and find the winter months more comfortable if you don't like the heat or flies!
The resort is amazing, from the moment you are met at the airport then taken to the lounge area where a schedule of events has been organised for you. These are not complusory but very worth while. The standard of the tours is excellent, the guides have so much knowlege of the legends and geography of the area.
The actual rooms or suites are evenly spaced out so that you do not feel cramped. The view of the rock is amazing especially waking up to it.
The whole dinning experience, especially under the stars is fabulous. All food preferences can be catered for as I am a veggie.
The staff are very helpful and will organise additional trips if you desire, we took a helicopter ride over the rock and Kings Canyon.
Yes, this resort does look expensive at first sight but it does include all unlmited food and beverage, included in your room, plus all transfers and excursions.
I loved it and refer to this resort as paradise within the desert!
If you can afford this, go as you will not be disappointed.......

We have just returned from 2 nights at Longitude 131.
It was a fabulous experience. We loved the tours/hikes. (Remember to bring runners/walking shoes.) The food was delicious. It's a treat for those who appreciate fine dining. Eating under the stars, and then having an astronomer explain the night sky was magical. The rooms are really lovely and have an uninterrupted view of Uluru. The most private rooms are on the ends being numbers 1 & 15. As an extra, we circled the Rock on Harley Davidsons which was exhilarating. We went for our 25th Wedding anniverary and felt truly pampered.
