While there isn't alot of Dreamtime stories on The Olgas, you can do a short walk between the 'mountains' to a spot and enjoy the serenity.

“Sunrise & Valley of Winds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2009

We did sunset for Uluru and woke early to do sunrise at Kata Tjuta. From the resort it is a 50km (30-40min) drive to the Sunrise Viewing area. Keep in mind there will be a big line up of cars to past the National Park Check Point so take this into account. Make sure you are up and out at LEAST an hour before dawn. The viewing area is spectacular with full panorama back to the Rock (which the sun rises right next to!) and full view of the Domes of the Olgas as the sun hits them. After witnessing the spectical jump back in the car for a short drive to the start of the Valley of WInds track head.

It is a spectacular hike of just over 7km so an early start to escape the heat is a good idea. (Also to beat the tour groups). You will need water, hat, sunscreen, and a fly net for you face unless you want to get friendly with thousands of flys. The Valley lived up to its name the day we went, windy as which kept the temp and bugs down a bit. Its not a terribly hard walk and is well marked. Will take a couple of hours to do. It would look amazing if it was raining as the waterfalls would be flowing so if you are kitted up and it rains dont be discouraged. There are no bathrooms at the trackhead (they are currently under construction) but there are some not to far away at the pinic area.

All in all a fantastic short day hike, I only wish you could still camp in there but I understand it would destroy the place so enjoy, take pics and report anyone you see graffiting or littering the place :)

“Beats Uluru Hands Down!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2008

If you are going to the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Park please do not miss out Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)!!!

Get up early and take the 7.4k walk through 'The Olgas' as the sun rises, it is one of the most stunning environments you could hope to be in! Four us did it together and where the only people on the trail due to the fact that we were there early. It is a fairly easy walk and you will not be dissapointed!

For me it is more stunning and inspiring that Uluru itself.

“amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2007

Kata Tjuta is truly an amazing sight. You should not miss it if you go to Uluru National Park. It is different from Uluru, but also very beautiful. The Valley of the Winds walk is great. Definitely a highlight/
