“AATKings Kings Canyon rim and base walk with Shorty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

Our day started early heading off from Sails in the desert Yulara around 4 am we were greeted by our guide Leonie in the foyer and soon introduced to our driver for the day Liam or as he prefers to be called Shorty a moment latter we headed off to pick up the other day travellers from around Yulara before hitting the highway. Now my wife and I sat ourselves directly behind the driver {Shorty} now this could have proved to be a bad decision if some wild animal came a bound-in through the front window but it wasn't a bad decision no animals on the bus {not four legged any way you had to be there} our first stop was at a homestead in the middle of now were that served ok food and just ok coffee however at this time of the morning any coffee is appreciated.Back on the bus after breakfast and off to Kings Canyon, now on the bus were were offered two choices head off for a walk around the rim of the canyon with Leonie approximately three and a half hours or a walk along the base of the canyon with Shorty and the option of a helicopter flight after the walk and before lunch, My wife and I chose to go with shorty {great choice} we started the walk with a run down of what to expect and saftey issues before heading of on a quite easy enjoyable tour taking around one and a half hours to complete we even got to see the others that went off for the rim walk hanging over the cliff.
Now with the tour complete the ever obliging Shorty dropped four of us off at The professionals Helicopter service were our pilot Bryce took us up for a very informative flight before returning back to the Kings Canyon hotel for lunch. the trip back was a pleasant one with everyone falling asleep Shorty and I took up talking.
I would like to give a special praise for our Bus driver Shorty He may be short in stature but is one of the tallest blokes I know in heart and Kind Shorty did everything he could to make every ones day sensational Well done and thanks If after reading this story and you choose to do an AATKings tour I hope you to are fortunate to meet Shorty

“Good walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

If visiting Uluru it is worth including Kings Canyon on your trip.

The rim walk (although busy particularly in the early stage when people are going slowly up the hill) is a good one and you get some nice canyon and waterfall views. Swimming is possible at the top.

Once up that first hill the walk isn't strenuous provided the temperature is ok.

“rim walk is great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2014

100 m-high sandstone walls, and views that stretch across the desert.
DO the Rim Walk
Put on your walking boots and explore the 6km Rim Walk - a must for those seeking magnificent views of the Canyon rim, search for the 'The Lost City' and the 'Garden of Eden'. There are options to suit all fitness levels and swim in these pools.
It is 3 hours from Uluru.

“Nice canyon shame about the resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

The canyon is beautiful... the climb is hard but if you can't do that the walk up the canyon is really lovely.

“if possible - avoid it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

we travelled a long time with hot temperature to arrive at king canyon. flyers were everywhere and don't let you any stops. they are always with you and in your face. When you go to watch sunset or sunrise at king canyon (after that you will get up very early!! 5am!!) you'll find (only for you...) a temperature of 30-33°C and many flyers.
And for what? A simple walkway without an emotion, really nothing special for you.
Go directly to ULURU.
