4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014

A guided tour of the Rishon Museum is an inspirational visit because of the first old buildings where it is located, numerous preserved original objects exhibited and also for the story of the accomplishment of vision of the first 49 pioneer inhabitants. The translation of the name Rishon means " the first". The visitor can walk in the original first house, school, temple, bank modest buildings of Rishon Le Zion first village . Here was developed the first water systems, electricity, telephone, and also the first public garden in the Middle Est. With the modest means available at the beginning the garden served also for experimentation gardening and agriculture. Today a walk in the beautiful garden and the road of giant palm trees is living prove of the pioneers succes.

“history relived.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

the rishon le zion museum is located where the old rishon business strip was, therefore the different shops we see are the original ones. later within a few minutes walk you get to sit in an actual class the original settlers sat in, and go to different homes of people who lived there and left their mark. A great educational and fun place to visit for the whole family.

“Don't bother”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

This Museum is dedicated to the story of Rishon Le Zion. This was one of the very first Jewish settlements in Israel ("Moshava"), but little of that remains. What it became in the last few decades is a sleepy suburb of Tel Aviv, only now showing the very first signs of establishing it's own style and cultural attractions.

If you find yourself in the city for business or shopping and have an hour to burn, I guess you could do worse than this small history museum with a strong Nostalgic vibe of early zionism. No reason to come otherwise. For a better example of such a settlement that still retains much of it's charm, find "Zikhron Ya'akov" on your map.

“Small local museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Located in one of the first houses in the city. Better to do it with a guide though you can always get some extra info from the staff there. Special.
