This property was really handy as it's quite close to Auckland International as we had a really early morning flight. The other great thing is that you can park your car there for up to a week -which for us neutralised the cost of the night's stay compared to paying for parking at the Airport!

The room was clean and the spa was nice if a bit basic. My only criticism would be there is no restuarant on-site and and the hotel is in an industrial area which you need to walk though to get a meal. I was concerned about traffic noise but this didn't seem to be a problem.

Overall, a nice airport hotel that fitted the need and would stay there again. It certainly compares well with it's competition in the airport area as it's quite new and reasonably priced.

We stayed here for our last night in NZ before flying home from Auckland. We booked after seeing the good reviews on the tripadvisor site! We arrived at Auckland airport from Queenstown and contacted the hotel via the free phone in the arrivals hall (beside all the signs advertising accommodation in auckland!) and the free shuttle picked us up. We did have to wait maybe 15 mins for the bus to arrive but it was no problem - the receptionist explained this to us when we called. Our room was great - clean and very spacious. We had paid a little extra for a room with a spa bath - not sure if it was worth it but it was only a few quid extra and it was nice to relax before the long flight home! Despite being in an industrial estate, there were a couple of places you could walk to for a meal at night so we didn't starve! The free continental style buffet breakfast was fine - toast, cereal, muffins, pastries, fruit, tea, coffee and juice. Whilst checking in we were asked if we wanted to arrange our shuttle back to the airport the next morning which we did - picked up on time so no problems here either!

Simply due to the location I wouldnt recommend staying here on holiday for any length of time - but as a stopover before or after flying into or out of Auckland it's ideal!!

We booked a room for 2 nights. Our flight to Auckland arrived at 6 am, and we picked up our rental car and headed to the Ventura Inn. We had booked a room for the previous night so we could have somewhere to clean up and nap before heading into the city. The clerk was very welcoming (even though we had shown up on the "no show" list for the previous evening) and told us to be sure to have the complimentary breakfast to which we were entitled. We'd been upgraded to a 2-room suite. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine--and it was nice to be able to stay there and eat, as the hotel is located in an industrial park area. They even have a computer with free Internet access.

We stayed at the Ventura on our last night in New Zealand. We arrived from Napier by air and waited over 30 minutes for pick-up (despite having called and said "we're here!"). Apparently the shuttle bus only runs every half hour. When the shuttle bus finally came, it was much too small for the amount of travellers who were waiting to be picked up. The driver assured us that he would be back "in five minutes" to pick up the rest of us, but no, he didn't show up again until the next scheduled time (one-half hour later). (So why did he tell us he'd be back in 5 minutes? grr ....) So for an airport hotel which is "5 minutes from the airport," it took us well over an hour to get there! Several passengers ended up bypassing their "free" shuttle because they simply couldn't wait any longer--they needed to be up at back at the airport at 5:00 a.m. and needed to check in. We ended up sending two of our family by taxi with the bags to get checked in and the rest of us caught up to them some 30 minutes later. Only stay here if you are ready to shell out more NZ dollars for a taxi because you simply cannot rely on the shuttle! Until they get a larger shuttle or a more efficient schedule for the busier times, I'd look elsewhere (we watched a lot of shuttles come and go in all that time we were waiting for ours .....).

The room was okay; it met our needs (sleep) but was by no means anything special. Nor was the breakfast--cereal, toast, coffee, etc. Adequate but that's about it.

As a last night in New Zealand, it certainly left a bad taste in my mouth.
