“Excellent accommodation and so close to the airport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012

My husband and I have stayed here on many occassions. I was by myself this time and as usual found Laurel to be the most accommodating and friendly hostess one could wish for. Nothing is too much trouble for Laurel and she always makes one feel totally at home. The premises are really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The rooms are more than adequate and their decor is really lovely. For the rooms that dont have their own bathrooms, there is a large and airy bathroom with several showers and toilets to accomodate you. As with the rest of the place these are spotlessly clean. Laurel provides breakfast from 6.30am to 9am and there is a variety of cerals, fruit, yoghurt, toast, and spreads to choose from, and also coffee and tea. The lounge is very comfortably furnished with a large screen TV and magazines and papers to read.
I have stayed in many different types of accommodation and Airport B&B is certainly one of my favourites. I will always recommend Laurels wonderful friendly B&B, and recommend it to anyone I know who is looking for a friendly and very clean place to stay. I totally disagree with the comments made by Vivid__gb, all I can imagine is that this person has very large teeth, if they couldn't clean them in the handbasin!! Of course there are always those who are impossible to please it seems. Going by the rest of the comments made on Laurels site, others agree with my review. Thankyou Laurel for providing me with a home away from home at a very reasonable price.I shall definitely return next time I visit Auckland.

Room Tip: You can choose to have a room with an ensuite or not. Both are very comfortable and spotless There...

We had to stay somewhere close to the airport because of our early flight. We were hoping to find somewhere with a b&b feel to it and the positive reviews of Airport b&b persuaded us to go for it. From the pictures available on the website we expected it to be basic but we did not expect it to be that basic. There is a long plain corridor with rooms on both sides, in the middle of it is an area of shared facilities with cubicles and showers exposed to the eye and it looks like motorway services. We had a room with private facilities. There was no wardrobe in our room because its space was taken by a shower and a toilet. There was no place left in there for a sink, thus the sink was placed in the room next to a bed. The sink was so tiny that it was impossible even to brush teeth. The room was hot, no aircon, just an old noisy ventilator on a shelf beneath the ceiling. The windows had security bolts on them allowing the windows to open just a fraction. Outside was extremely noisy with people speaking loudly till after midnight. On a positive side the room was clean. Breakfast was selfservice: cereal, yoghurt, instant coffee. There is a communal tea & coffee making facilities in the reception area and some snacks on sale by the side. We didn't see much of a hostess, just on our arrival and departure. The hostess is a nice woman who runs her business like clockwork, but there is no b&b feel to it, it's a hostel from every point of view. She was kind to take us to the airport at 6.30 in the morning which was real nice of her but again this service was included into the room price and was provided within the timeframe outlined on the website. As to the value for money, we stayed in simply magnificent b&bs in NZ which were in the same price range.

We stayed here for one night and Laurel was helpfulness itself. She met us at the airport as we had travelled from Queenstown and she took us back in the morning for our flight to Hawaii. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and breakfast was included. Great service.

We selected this B&B because we had an early morning flight. Laurel was helpful and had breakfast out for us even at 5:50 am. We stayed two nights. The lounge area was a fun place to meet other travelers. It is a block from a bus stop to go to downtown Auckland. There is no air-con so on a warm day the room can be uncomfortable. It was good value for the price.

Stayed here the night after arrival in NZ. Very close to the airport, they will pick you up from airport. The owner is friendly, it is very quiet, clean, comfortable, and basic breakfast (cereal toast, tea coffee) is included. Very good for arrival in NZ. The only downside was the owner recommended a local car hire company that gave us a rubbish car (but obviously this was not the bed and breakfast's fault).

We chose this B&B because it is close to the airport and offered a free ride. It is a great place to stay for a few nights. Although it's near the airport, the bus leaves from very close and takes about 45 minutes to the city. We also rented a car from GORentals and they will pick you up here to collect your car. The hostess is very helpful indeed and has a good sense of humor. We really enjoyed her. Breakfast is continental, but very adequate with fruit, yogourt, cereal, juice, toast and coffee/tea, Our only slight complaint was that we reserved the twin ensuite room and it is very small...hardly room to swing our cat. But for the price, convenience and location it hardly matters. We stayed here both ends of our trip as we were so satisfied.

There is no air conditioning which might be a problem in high summer.

We ate at two nearby restaurants that offer pick up and bring home. Both very good.

Room Tip: The delux king ensuite is more expensive, but definitely the best room!

My husband and I stayed here when we arrived in Auckland and again the night before we left. Laurel picked us up at the airport, only a 5-minute drive from the B&B. Not a fancy place, but oh, so comfortable -- we felt at home immediately. Laurel is the ultimate hostess! We had an ensuite room .... spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is continental with a great variety of cereal, toast, etc. and one morning Laurel fixed banana fritters. There's a microwave if you want to bring takeaway back and a guest fridge to use.

Laurel was so helpful -- there's a huge display of tourist brochures and maps and she'll recommend places and tell you how to figure out the bus schedules -- buses run less than a block from the B&B.

After we came home, we feel like we left a good friend behind.
