“Lovely quiet little room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

My husband and I stayed in a 'hotel room' in this apartment complex on the esplanade at Hervey Bay. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a walk-in robe which was great because it gave us a place to put the suitcase - we weren't falling all over it in the room as you usually do. There was also a small kitchenette with all the necessary crockery and cutlery. (No cooking, but there was a jug and toaster).
The managers were very helpful, pleasant and smiling.
Only problem was the smell from the fish and chip shop - but there is nothing the apartment owners or managers can do about that and as it was very hot the sliding doors were closed and the air conditioning on in any case.

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the fish and chip shop extractor fan.

I stay at Eden by the Bay every month when I travel for work. It's situated in a great location, handy to retail shops, restaurants, supermarket and directly opposite the beach. The apartments are well furnished and spacious and also has cooking and laundry facilities. The staff are friendly and always happy to recommend things to do and places to eat. I highly recommend the Eden by the Bay!!

I stay here for business regularly and find it a great place to stay. The location is perfect, accross from the beach, with several great cafes and restaurnats within a 2 minute walk.

The complex is modern and the rooms in good condition.

We checked into a two bedroom apartment at a rate of $280 per night so expected something impressive, especially as their website says "luxury accommodation." Whilst the apartment interior was fine, it is ruined by the absolutely disgusting greasy stench coming from the fish and chip shop's exhaust fan that was right next to our balcony.
The odour was so disgusting it was impossible to use the balcony which was a key reason we booked this accommodation. (we paid extra for an ocean view).
Additionally we were unable to leave any windows open, so we didn't enjoy any of the fresh sea air we had been looking forward to.
In addition to the horrible odour problem, the apartment is furnished with sharp glass topped dining and coffee tables. On our first night our three year old daughter cut herself so badly on the coffee table she ended up in hospital. I would suggest safer furniture is put in place, especially as larger apartments usually cater for families.

Lovely hotel in a perfect spot for exploring hervey bay. The hotel manager was extremely helpful as we needed a room at the last minute late at night. I would highly recommend it & will definitely stay again when I next visit hervey bay!

I have stayed many times at Eden by the Bay for business. Sometimes I stay 1 night and sometimes 3 nights. I have always received excellent service by the staff and the complex overall is awesome. Nice and quiet at night and lovely swimming pool and spa. Units are great and very homely. I like that I can walk out the front and there is a chinese restaurant,Thai restaurant ,Indian restaurant and great pizza shop and Foodworks, so everything is at your fingertips including a bar across the road and the beach.

When you see pictures of the outside of Eden by the Bay it does not look as appealing as it really is. I stayed in a 1 brm apartment partially overlooking the pool. One might worry they do not have sea views but at Hervey Bay this is almost irrelevant for two reasons. The first is that most views are blocked by the trees that actually make the beach and bike pathways more pleasant. You may not have such a great view of the beach anyway. The second is that when you are so close to the beach you actually GO to the beach. You can sit on well-maintained seats in the shade and enjoy the beach up close instead of from your room.

The location of Eden by the Bay is incredible and, to me, the selling point. You park your car and don't have to use it until you leave. Nearby is a small supermarket, several restaurants, an incredible French patisserie (truly French and truly quality), a chemist, a newsagent and a beach cafe just across the road. Unfortunately 2nd Kichen has closed. There is a bar and pizza cafe on the next block. BBQs and a children's playground are by the shore just across the road. You can hire bikes and ride along the Esplanade with views of the water all the way to the Boat Harbour or to the water park (1.6 km) and further. Holidaying there is so simple and pleasant.

The room is quite new and quite luxurious and clean. The 1 brm apartment had tv/dvd, kitchen with microwave and hotplates, crockery and full size fridge, a washer/dryer and sink, and a spa bath under the shower. The spa bath isn't that comfortable or worth the water to fill it. The bed was comfortable and airconditioning pleasant.

The pool is simple but nice but the attached spa is strange with spouts going upwards instead of from the wall. There are recliners and even shade from a big umbrella. A sauna, shower and toilet is also in this area. The pool is located in the middle of the building but it is peaceful and this has its own appeal. Perhaps the peacefulness was enhanced by the fact that it was not holiday season.

As far as value for money, this property is best on a deal. The rates are in line with new luxury apartments in other Queensland cities.

I had none of the issues with room faults or staff as some reviewers had and I believe these things are being addressed. I would probably suggest that things like extra toilet paper could be provided without extra cost. I guess these sort of things are the difference between motels and apartments. Motels tend to provide more and most of us are used to that.

I would recommend Eden by the Bay to those who appreciate quality and wish to enjoy the beach and all that the surrounding area provides without much effort at all.
