“Marinara at Craypot”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

We were there for lunch 20/09/2012. For $ 28.50 we got a plate of undercooked noodles proudly called "Fettucini", covered with the cheapest tomato sauce. 3 mussels in shells were carefully placed on a plate forming a beautiful triangle. After some search several nail sized pieces of tasteless fish were found amidst "Fetticini". I have been to many restaurants in Christchurch and Auckland and I am not a fussy eater, but this Craypot holds honorary second place in my "Horror list". Thank you.

“Good breakfasts on the Esplanade”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

Visited on a sunny late autumn morning and it was glorious to soak in the rays to ward off the chill over good coffee. Extensive menu choices at reasonable prices.

Was busy when we ordered so the delay in having meals arrive was acceptable.

A good choice in the main street for Breakfast and lunch.

“Never again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2012

Much too expensive for that bad qualitiy of food. The starter came at the same time like the menu and the waitress obviously don´t give a [--] on her job. She was unkind and apathetically. Maybe the craypot crew hat an off day, but probably they always do so. Anyway, it´s really not worth a try to eat in that restaurant, they will never see us again.

“Look elsewhere for crayfish”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

Crayfish was rubbery and tasteless. Disappointing considering how much it costs.

Friendly waitress.

“Expected better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

Nice surroundings but the food was somewhat disappointing. Plenty of plain fries and a plain salad. The crayfish (the only reason for stopping there) was very rubbery/chewy and overcooked. Possibly could have found somewhere better for the price. Over $40 for a half.
