“Everywhere”

Seals can be seen almost everywhere along the coastline. It so nice to see them playing/relaxing in their own habitat.

“Seal Colony”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

Great for kids as they can play in the rock pools and find lots of interesting things. The seals are usually lying on the rocks close to the walkways

“I never tire of these guys!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

Once you get over the smell this is one of my favourite experiences in NZ. Although not tame you can get fairly close if you are respectful of the fact that these are wild animals. Go early in the morning or as the sun goes down or the atmospheric experience; we sat here and fed seagulls and waited for the sun to go down watching sea and seals- quite magical.

Loved being able to get up so close and see the seals in their natural surroundings. Great for the kids and us big kids. Loved it!

“Stacks of seals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

We were able to walk the rocks to the seals and have a great view without getting too close. The main experience happened on the way back to Kaikoura when we stopped for a photo along the cliff and about 3 metres away was a young seal who was so interested in me that he came even closer. Others were playing around just below. The photos are on our big camera so can't put it in yet but will in the next week or so.
