“Really wrth the visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

We stayed only 1 night but were made very welcome. The pitch was not huge but more than adequate for our Motor home and as we had a very early start they placed us to cause the least disturbance to the other guests. We found the facilities clean and tidy, showers were hot and again very clean even in he late evening. The staff were always helpful and only to willing to organize trips if required.

We've stayed at Alpine Pacific 3 or 4 times in the last year. Drive up from Christchurch for a long weekend and it's always excellent. Always clean and tidy, really friendly staff and owners and just a ten minute walk from town. We always see a nice mix of people staying, from families, to couple to tourists and back packers and the facilities easily cater for all. Nice spa pools too and the views of the Southern Alps are fabulous.

Room Tip: They're all good and a decent distance from the road, so no problems at all.

When we went in May it was lovely and quiet. The camp is set away from the road and you get a great view of the stars at night. The facilities were clean, there were plenty of toilets and showers. The hot tub was a nice way to spend some spare time. The lady on reception was really helpful, she helped us with booking some trips locally.

Me and two other friends stayed at a room with a bunk bed and a double bed for one night. Linens were not provided and to safe money, we thought we could be fine. But it was CHILLY during the night. Don't ever try not to rent them if you stay here during autumn time. The path to the cabin was lined with tiny rocks and it's a bit messy for we were carrying luggage with wheels.
One big bonus was the dark environment, with millions of stars and a clear moon for you to gaze upon at night/early morning.

After experiencing another camp in Kaikoura, we went looking for a viable alternative and found it at Alpine Pacific Holiday Park. It was quiet with very little traffic and train noise. It was sheltered from the wind. It was clean and tidy. The staff were nice and helpful.
We will now use this camp as one of our preferred stopovers.

My wife and I stayed at the Alpine-Pacific Holiday park when our children was very young. They wouldn't remember the trip in 2005. We decided to take our children now nine and elven on a Easter Holiday to the first place we traveled to when they were younger. We had more fun on this visit and the memories would always be there, as the children enjoyed the pool, hot tubs, and the baby seals at the seal colony. We stayed four nights and four lovely family days in a cabin. They children enjoyed meeting new children at the pool everyday. We walked to the shops and enjoyed the community kitchen area where everyone was a stranger and all as helpful as family.

We stayed in an Ensuite cabin for 3 nights. What a fantastic place to stay, walking distance to town, cafés and eateries. Presentation of the cabins and all facilities were exceptional. The pool, hot tubs and trampoline kept the kids we'll entertained. We highly recommend Alpine Pacific and would definitely stay again. Thank you for a fantastic short break.
