Don’t be fooled by the nice looking public areas downstairs because the bedrooms are in need of upgrading from the time you see your room door, and our room was a 'Superior room'. It did seem the best of the bunch as far as hotels are concerned in the area. In the nice looking restaurant, only 4-5 people were seen eating there, everyone else had seemingly gone out. Breakfast extra at $16. Internet available in your room if you have a laptop. Greymouth is not particularly inviting, not one of NZ's best locations. We did stay at another Kingsgate in NZ, and found the same conditions there.
