“Wonderful restful camping ground”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

This park is spotlessly clean and exceptionally well laid out. The pool is brilliant but don't wear gold rings into it!!! Lovely restful location with friendly staff. Will be back and would recommend to travellers for one night or a week.

We only had time to spend a day and night but found it to be a nice and very clean camp site. We certainly will be back. Hot pool is lovely. Toilets in ladies where all blocked this morning and showers were all full for very long time. My partner said the mens toilets were fine. Another toilet shower block is really needed but you could make do for a night. The cleanest kitchen and amenities block I have seen in a long time. Just a lovely little gem of a place. Found having to go into office to get them to let you in when you leave camp site for a drive or dinner out a pain but still worth a stay for a night.

Very nice, well kept holiday park. Stayed overnight in our tent - good sized pitch. Good modern facilities - communal kitchen large, clean and well laid out with outside covered eating area. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Free hot pool was great for relaxing. Would recommend.

We decided to break out the new tent and venture down to Miranda Holiday park for a quick long weekend away in the new year. Booking online was quick simple and painless with confirmation and all questions answered being answered promptly.

The park is set well back off the main road and since its really in the middle of no where it was soooo quiet! Although the office/shop was super busy with people checking in the lady behind the counter remained smiley and happy to help.

We took our two small dogs with us and were positioned in the dog friendly section of the park which is actually just outside of the main camp ground. Just be mindful that being out here means that all the vehicles coming and going from the camp ground will drive past your site - not really a big problem unless you're really wanting to get away from everyone. They've made efforts to make this as park like as possible with trees and grass around but it does still feel like a bit of a driveway - still a small sacrifice to take the furbies with us!

The park itself is really nice with loads of space, great CLEAN and tidy facilities. We made use of the shared kitchen, free hot pool (which is children free after 8pm), and the bathrooms. All very modern and kept clean - really impressed with how these were maintained.

Will be heading back to hear again for a short break away from Auckland :) Remember to go to the camp office to get your discount entry for the main mineral hot pools which are next door!

My husband and I were very undecisive about where to spend our Xmas break and saw this little place as an idyllic retreat, albeit just "down the road" from Thames...
We have our own self contained Motor Home with three little furrys' and a private vehicle, so we were pleasantly surprised that Miranda Holiday Park accommodated all three of our needs...
The beautiful spa pool was a blessing as was Janice with her "magic" fingers at the on site Karma Waters Massage...
The shower/bathroom, laundry facilities were always immaculately clean as was the kitchen (which we didn't need to use). The long driveway entrance into the park is an excellent exercise area for the pups and easy to view vehicles coming or going, enabling us to gather our little ones, along with their "accidents"...
There was a slight hiccup on our last night but because it was Christmas eve, we were again pleasantly surprised by their good faith and "Christmas Spirit"...
We're now hoping to make Miranda Holiday Park our regular "stopover" for future travels.:)

Thanks guys for an absolutely relaxing holiday...

We booked here as a stopover working our way down the coast and am glad we did.
The studio room was a real surprise in that it was so nice, clean and open. Great sleep and, regretfully, did not get to the pool. The people were really pleasant and we are already planning a return trip. Takeaways from next door were lovely or 10K's up the road to Kaiuaua and Fish and Chips or Hotel.

A clean and pleasant site set out for a variety of uses, especially camper vans and tents but including a number of motel style units. We had a studio for three nights. The unit was modern with good fittings and of generous size. The layout is a little odd. Each building comprises a studio next to a two bedroom apartment. The studio is advertised as being particularly suitable for a couple or a couple with one child. The apartments obviously sleep many more and with poor sound proofing the noise of a large group and children impinged on the quiet we hoped for. There was no hob in our studio unit although the apartments appear to have them. You can get hot food nearby but it is limited so you have to be inventive if you want to cook in the unit. Units are only serviced if you are present (never come across this before - is it just a way for them to not service your unit?). So, if you are staying for more than a day and don't want to stay in until they decide to service, be prepared to wander across to reception to ask for toilet rolls, tea bags etc. Wifi was extra at $7 per 24 hours. No real soap or hair shampoo - liquid from dispensers of which the one in the shower didn't work. But it wasn't all bad; when we did get to sleep the bed was very comfortable.

The mineral hot pool was nice - just the right temperature for us and was never too crowded whilst we were there.
