I took my son here as as a farewell when he enrolled at Massey. It was really quiet when we went in for lunch and I was a bit dubious. My son had tonkatsu chicken bento and I had sashimi bento. the fish was fresh and sliced perfectly - salmon and white fish. salad, rice, gyoza and miso were all wonderful. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys good quality japanese (not the Korean impressionist stuff that is often chewy and badly sliced and seasoned). the two lovely ladies , one front of house dressed traditionally? was friendly and interested in where we had come from, her daughter was also starting uni. The other dark haired lady who came out and wished my son a good time at university also said that if he ever wanted to come and chat to any older ladies he was welcome anytime (it was definitely a kind and genuine mothering offer). Although the lunchtime bento set is there when I asked about agedashi tofu or edamame beans (two of my faves) - they said we could also order off the dinner menu and I will be when I return - I can't wait! At least with my son at Massey I have a reason to get there sooner
