While visiting Palmerston North for business I had dinner at The Gallery based on a friend's recommendation because he knew I would appreciate the outstanding service and metro yet soothing ambience in this buzzy restaurant. It was a Friday night and most of the tables were taken but the hosts were so accommodating and seated me at a lovely private table. When I looked over the menu, it had all the essentials with some interesting flavours and due to the fact I was starving I chose Beef & Lamb for a main. The meat was cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully on the plate I might add. The host, Tamsin suggested I try the signature dish of scallops which I did - Definitely give this dish a taste, I hadn't enjoyed scallops like this for a while, they were beautiful.
I did notice a few larger groups which I must admit added to the energy of the place and the fact their plates were empty so one might presume that every dish was quite good.
The ambience makes you feel like you are in a big city, very sophisticated and equally inviting. Kudos to The Gallery, it is a rare gem in Palmerston North and I will definitely go back with friends or a date next time.
