my boyfriend an i stayed in the wilderness cabin over 2 nights in August 2013. The surroundings were beautiful, the owners very welcoming, friendly and warm. the cabin is very romantic and secluded which we loved. I was extremely disappointed though, with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The floor was dirty, and definitely not up to scratch, I actually had to sweep it myself. the previous guests had broken the dishwasher which the owners hadn't repaired and didn't have the parts for, so we had to wash dishes by hand (who wants to do that when their on holiday?) The previous guests also spilled oily salad dressing all into the bottom of the fridge which leaked out onto the floor, again which I had to clean up. The BBQ on the deck was quite dirty, the bathroom floor looked like it needed a good mop, or hadn't been mopped in some time, and to top it all off, the sheets smelled unlaundered and sweaty from the last guests and they definitely hadn't been washed. When i woke up in the morning I also noticed someone elses blood on the sheets which disgusted me. Dont forget we payed around $1000 for 2 nights there. we complained to the owner who stated " I definitely changed the sheets before you came and I don't know how there could have been any blood on them". As I began explaining that I used to be a cleaner and was fastidious with hygiene and cleanliness ( I am a nurse) the owner then became apologetic, and it was quite obvious he lying. Upon returning home to Perth we had received an email from the owners wife apologizing for the dirty sheets and claiming that the cleaner had cut her leg and perhaps accidentally got blood on the sheets. mind you, people who tell lies usually change their stories numerous times, don't they?
A nice place to stay overall, but the rooms should be clean at least for the large amount of money payed to stay there.
I probably wont return again.
