“Return visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Our recent visit to Margaret's Beach Resort was the second time we stayed, this time in a two bedroom apartment which was well equipped and quite spacious. We chose the place both times for its proximity to the ocean, which is a few minutes' stroll away and offers some breathtaking scenery. It's clean, the staff are friendly and I would not hesitate to recommend the resort to anyone looking for a self-contained stay in the region.

Thank you for your recommendation. We are very glad you returned to us and yes the 2 bedroom apartments are fantastic accommodation, with plenty of room to move and full size kitchen is the added bonus.
Look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Having come across the Resort while touring Australia during 2011, we were only able to stay for a few days. We were so impressed, among other things, by the levels of friendly, none intrusive, “can-do” customer service, cleanliness’, ambience, etc., that we decided to return for an extended stay at a future date. The date of that extended stay was during February 2013, when we stayed for nearly three weeks.
During our extended stay we again found the qualities we appreciated during our earlier visit, referred to above, remain very much present.
During our stay we toured the whole of the Margaret Area, particularly the beach and coastline, walking extensively, while watching the many surfers, operating in various guises and skill levels.
An excellent local facility, five minutes’ walk through the dunes to the beach is the White Elephant Café. They serve an outstanding Flat White coffee and breakfasts of varying sizes, including those capable of setting up most people for a full day; all at very reasonable prices. The Resort also boasts an on-site restaurant at which we enjoyed several fish meals. The fish tasted as fresh any we have had, including catching and barbequing our own catch, fresh out of the water, on the beach.
The rating below of the "fitness centre" is a little misleading as, there is not a "fitness centre" on site. However, the whole surrounding area is a potential fitness facility, with most taking full advantage!

Room Tip: From choice chose an upper floor location as the views over the beaches and countryside are more ext...

Wow this is a lovely review by yourself. Thank you for all the staff at Margarets Beach Resort.
We pride ourselves on our customer service, so for you to mention that is one of the things that bought you back to us, we are very appreciative. We are very happy you enjoyed every aspect of your stay from the fabulous walking trails to the beautiful cafe's, and yes watching the ocean antics of surfers/ paddle boarders/windsurfers, etc is a very enjoyable and relaxing.
We do hope you will return to the area in the future.

We booked thru Tourist Centre the lady said it was on the beachfront it seems that nothing is really on the beach in the area as most of the beaches are under regeneration so if your lucky enough to be up high you can see the sea. We had filtered views from our room.the hotel looks better from the outside then inside.

Now for the room it had everthing we needed we didn't cook but we did use the machine and dryer the bath/shower was a little high to get into but I did strike that again in a later hotel so maybe that normal in WA older hotels and only shower curtain water on floor. The room was a little dated and could do with some redecoration the thing that was a problem is that our room did not have a full privacy curtain and as other rooms are at the same level looking in you had to remember to fully dress in the bathroom other rooms did have full curtains we were unlucky. The blind worked fine for blockout at night. The balcony was a welcome area morning breaky, afternoon and evening.

The pool was quite cold but bearable and welcome as on our first day the sea was dumping surf but quite smooth the next day so much more pleasant it seems the Margaret River is famous for its surfing for a reason many of the beaches aren't that friendly for swimmers although we went to Gracetown it was very nice and a staff member Matt told us it is always good and child and swimmer friendly.

Now for the restaurant/bar attached we ate there both nights and was very happy with both the first night we had the lamb cutlets very good and big serve the staff are young and friendly Matt stood out he works the bar they had happy hour 5 to 6 evenings and we got a free drink from the hotel the first night I enjoyed my stay overall but I'm not that fussed on Margaret River in general I think its over hyped but I suppose the wine buffs or surfers wouldn't agree I liked Denmark and the Dunsborough area so much more and could have spent a week in either as they are not just about wine.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Margaret Beach Resort during our honeymoon. Lovely rooms with a balcony and king size bed. Loved that they were self contained and we were able to easily cook meals. Staff were wonderful and it was only a short stroll to the beach. Very happy with our stay, highly recommend!

Congratulations again on your wedding and pop back to see us again, we look forward to seeing our repeat guests.

We stayed here for 3 nights and were glad we booked by the sea. Fantastic beach a 5 minute walk from the resort with a fantastic cafe (White Elephant) overlooking the beach. Food was excellent at the cafe. Accommodation was good, fairly basic but adequate. We took our wine tour from here - Margaretrivertours - highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony that overlooks the sea.

I love this hotel, they have excellent apartments, clean and good sizes. Good facilities for kids (there's a pool and a playground on site, plus walking distance to the beach). It's a drive from town, so you need a car, but you need a car for the entire region. The restaurant on-site isn't wonderful, although they market it as fine dining. The cafe on the beach, which is also owned by the same chef, is absolutely amazing. We had breakfast there every morning. I've stayed here several times in the past, and will continue to use as my base in Margs, it's wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room - and if you have kids make sure you ask for pram accessibility. Life is...

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed all there was to offer. The rooms were reasonably priced and clean and tidy. The kids had a great time in the pool and the playground was well situated too. The staff at Reception were lovely and helpful. Close to the beach, wineries and all this fantastic region has to offer.

Room Tip: 2 bedroom spa apartment was right up the end and out of the way, alot of space for the family.
