“Something Special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2011

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Llewellin's and it is difficult to avoid superlatives when describing Joanna and James and their delightful guest house which is tucked away in bushland betwixt Margaret River and the beach at Prevelly. As previous guests have mentioned, this little gem is in a superb location for exploring the Margaret River region, with all it's wineries and many attractions. The accommodation itself is spotless, warm and comfortable. Gourmet breakfasts are generous and very tasty and more than enough to fill you up for the day ahead. With such congenial hosts and nature at it's very best right outside the door, the only disappointment is having to leave! Thanks for a wonderful stay Joanna, James and Lillie....we will be back soon!

I chose this B&B based on the French Provincial themed room, eagerly anticipating our arrival leading up to our first visit to WA, and the highly acclaimed Margaret River. We left after 3 nights in MR saying that we had chosen the best possible accommodation option for us, as we loved the beautiful house, particularly our exquisitely decorated room, tranquil bush outlook (incl the rather lovely green lawn beyond the verandah;), and the highly attentive service. We also loved the opportunity to interact with great people during our time there, including the hosts as well as other guests over a delicious gourmet brekkie, which would not have been possible if we had stayed at a resort or hotel type establishment, where everyone keeps to themselves. With regards to the recent negative review, which I read the week before I arrived and had dampened my enthusiam for our stay somewhat, it took me no time at all when I arrived to feel confused about that particular out of date and unfair evaluation of this property. Nothing in this world is perfect, but 'Llewellins, The Guest House' was as close as we needed it to be in order to leave very happy customers, and when reading the vast majority of other reviews, it is clear we're not alone. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Garden and Spa rooms have French Provincial themed rooms which I loved.

...how great Llewellin's Guest House is! We planned to stay 2 nights, extended 10 minutes after our arrival for another night. The house is amazing, the rooms new and very tasteful. A huge, typical Australian bushland garden and lots of visiting birds complete a perfect setting for the perfect getaway. There are also BBQ facilities, which we used every evening. 

The best thing about the B&B are its owners, Joanna and James. From the first second we felt like being part of the family. Both made us feel truly welcome and were helpful every minute of our stay. Not to mention the great great breakfast…the best one by far we had during our 4 weeks stay in Australia.

We cannot think about having a better completion of our honeymoon!

James and Jo, you are the perfect hosts. You made us feel so welcome and special and we felt very spoilt. You have a real oasis of bushland paradise, yet so close to Margaret River and the beach. We just loved sitting on the verandah with our tea and home made muffins watching so many different birds, it was just so peaceful.
The room was so tastefully and beautifully appointed. Your attention to detail is just wonderful. We really didn't understand a recent review about your room and garden, we just thought it was perfect.
The dinner was just amazing, my goodness, what a great cook you are James! That was so delicious, then followed by more wonderful cooking at breakfast. We almost never eat a big cooked breakfast but we certainly tucked in to a truly amazing breakfast.
Thank you both so much - you are truly professional and we will tell everyone how wonderful you are!

I have been lucky enough to have stayed at this B&B more than once and recommend it to all my friends and anyone else I come across that is heading to Margaret River.

It saddens me to read reviews from the likes of Bonnie63A who you realize, once you read her other reviews, is no more than an inexperienced, cheap, backwater suburbanite, who has never been anywhere and has not got a clue about what things cost! To complain about brown grass in an Australian summer - in the country!!! That is what it is like love! And to complain when the pictures of the place actually clearly show how brown the grass is!!! This must be one reviewer that does not know that we have water shortages and a changing climate.....my only explanation...share ignorance!

My only advise to her is - go back to the trailer parks! Am sure the pricing will be perfect for you!

And for those who really do want a wonderful BED AND BREAKFAST, second to none - then u can not go past this wonderful piece of Margaret River!

My wife and I returned to Llewellin's Guest House this past weekend for a 3 night stay. It has been almost 2 years since we have stayed with Joanna and James...way too long! We were both delighted that the rooms are still as lovely as we remembered not to mention spotlessly clean. Breakfast ..... well this is even better than we remembered! It was a wet cold weekend but our room was warm, cosy and comfortable and best of all peaceful.
After a busy week and the drive down to Margaret River we were welcomed by Joanna & James with a complimentary glass of wine - a lovely touch indeed! We were instantly relaxed and the working week a million miles away!
Again, my wife and I both slept incredibly well during our stay - fantastic beds - peaceful bushland setting - only to be woken by the beautiful birds each morning. Doesn't get any better than that!
Our private wine tour with James took us to yet more un-heard of top quality wineries - and a lovely lunch at a new bistro we had yet to discover.
The time just went too quickly and we are already planning our next weekend away at Llewellin's. We have said it again but - you will not be disappointed choosing to stay with Joanna & James.
