I just came back from staying here for two nights with my mum. We had booked a family double, but when we arrived, the lady at the reception told us that she had put us in a bigger room, and showed us to one of the spa apartments, which had a full kitchen, a bunk bed and two queens - way too many beds for us but nevertheless we were very pleased about the upgrade. After leaving all of our bags (including a laptop) in the spa apartment, we left for a half day of sight seeing, when we got a call in the evening from the same lady, now apologetic, saying that she had put us in "the wrong room apartment" and had moved our bags to the correct room. She was very apologetic and nice and asked us to leave the keys for the original upgraded room at reception when we were back. When I agreed and said we'll pick up the keys from the correct room then too, she said she had left the room unlocked - so i had to ask her to lock it as my laptop was in there.
We rushed back, and exchanged keys. Since the lady the was extremely nice and apologetic, we decided to let the whole matter of moving our things without asking us, and THEN notifying us of the change, slide.
We left again and returned later that night to discover that one of our bags were missing. So we tried calling reception from the room telephone, but it was not working! So I had to go back through my phone log to find the number from which this accommodation called me in the evening, and called that number, went to get the keys for the big room, found my bag, and retrieved it.
Did not complain, was slightly peeved, but since they were apologetic, we just smiled and went about our business.
When we were supposed to check out, I had thought mistakenly that the checkout time was 11AM instead of 10AM, so at 20 past 10, as we were packing up to leave, there was a knock on the door and a very sour faced lady (same one who was extremely nice and apologetic when we first met and when SHE had made a mistake) told us "you know you're supposed to be out by 10?" and I explained what happened and apologized, and she just nodded, extremely sour and disgruntled and walked away.
Anyway, the place was nice, but I wouldn't go back there as I imagine there are similar places around for a similar price. It is a pity, as the stay itself was quite comfortable and enjoyable. Obviously the initial friendliness and hospitality was fake. And I do question the fact that she said it was a "mistake" that she had put us in the big room, as she first made it sound like an upgrade. She probably received a last minute booking and had to move us out.
Also, I don't think she should have moved our stuff without asking.
