booked in here 5 days in advance for a celebratory meal.
Arrived on the night to find we were at a different table to the one requested, there were no flowers on the table.
We entered behind a party of 7 and then were followed in quick succession by a further 3 couples.
We had a short wait to order and settled for the 3 courses as we usually do Then after quite a while complimentary bread was served - just bread no oil and dips as is usually served.
The entrees arrived just as we had given up and were thinking of moving on. One hour 10 after we had arrived. At this point we were hungry.
When the mains finally arrived one dish was hot, two were not hot at all. We approached the waitress (who I know now to be the head chef/manager) and explained that the food wasn't acceptable and we were moving on. She explained they were very busy and said she could send them back to the kitchen. I declined this offer as food should be acceptable when it comes out not second time around. She seemed genuinely surprised at our decision to move on.
If we had stayed here we would have looked at a $350 bill and were prepared to pay this. However if a restaurant is charging this we expect to have delicious food and impeccable service. The restaurant had obviously overbooked for the staff available on the night which is disappointing as we had booked in advance.
Overall the standard of service locally is quite poor with many restaurants providing shoddy service. At 9pm we had to go and find another restaurant which we were lucky to do.
