“Good clean, well designed hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

We enjoyed a recent night's stay at this small modern boutique-type hotel, especially the dip in the natural mineral spa pool. The pool was also lovely and very stylish. We had an especially relaxing short stay as the hotel wasn't very busy on the midweek February night that we were there, so we had the pool to ourselves. I liked the bedrooms and the open-type en-suite was quite fun, and easy enough to close when we wanted the bathroom to ourselves. Everything is very cream and clean which I liked, especially as I didn't have young children to worry about. I thought that the photos were quite realistic, so it pretty well did what it said on the tin.

I stayed for business but the staff are excellent and the decor just magic. The beds are the best I had the best night sleep I have had in ages. The location is peaceful and the views magnificient. Just on the edge of town but a nice walk or maybe the car. Meals are excellent and service from all areas is high grade. I managed to get a good deal on one of the online services. But I would pay the proper charge to go here again. Next time I am going for a holiday.

Room Tip: Take advantage of some of their specials or else go anyway

We had my daugter's wedding here last Saturday. In addition, many of the guests stayed at the hotel. The decor and styling of the function room was gorgeous. The food and beverages exceeded our expectations and the waiting staff were most impressive. The manager was incredibly organised and especially good to deal with. All of our guests had a fabulous time and we did not receive one piece of negative feedback. The accomodation was beautiful and the views from the three bedroom apartments are spectacular. I would highly recommend The Sebel Deep Blue as a wedding venue as would many of our guests who came primarily from Melbourne and the Macedon Ranges.

This 3-day holiday for early December was booked as a special deal and all our expectations were exceeded. The entrance and location took our breath away. The room and service was immaculate. The day spa with Hanna on duty was soothing and relaxing with good product advice supplied. The L-shaped indoor (pavilion but accessible through the hotel) salt-water swimming pool with adirondack deck chairs and timber floor surrounds transported you to anywhere in the world you could wish to be. Then again, with views of Little Bay from our tiny porch and overlooking a seemingly replica version of a New England (US) village and in short driving distance from Warnambool itself, historic Irish Boyne, quaint tea shops, boutique shopping and the amazing marina and parkland plus Caravel at Port Fairy you really don't need to go far at all. We did most of our journey by public transport from the Southern Highlands of NSW with overnight train and then Vline from Geelong to Warnambool.

Cannot wait to return - perhaps in winter this time to see our Southern Ocean at its wildest instead of varying temperatures and windy on the headlands in early summer.

Room Tip: Be prepared for most of your activities to be outdoors - my boys chose laser skirmish at night and a...

This was a quickly planned romantic getaway without the kids for the first time in two years. Check in was quick efficient and well handled. Yes they mentioned that $100 bond would be on the credit card, if you read the other review it's not quite accurate, most hotels charge a bond they just don't tell you. We asked for late check out if possible and this wasn't an issue. The room was clean, well layed out, and we could see the ocean. For those who can't see the ocean it is only a few minutes walk anyway. The bed was large and quite comfortable. Dinner was lovely and the waiting staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was a hot/cold buffet with plenty to choose from and once again the waiting staff were friendly. The bathroom did have bifold door but if it's an issue just leave it closed, it certainly doesn't impact on your stay. The pool was inviting and the Mii spa was fantastic.
We will be coming back again and soon

Pleasant stay at this hotel, its either a fairly new or a well maintained hotel. The rooms are of a good standard, I had a studio room which have no cooking facilities at all, it had a balcony which I think they all have, depending on where your room is as to how much of a sea view you have, Im not sure which was built first but there is another hotel right in front of this one which has a major impact on the view of the Ocean which is a shame, the balconies are quite small but it would have been nice to have a small table with a chair to sit outside and enjoy the view. The staff were good, check-in and check-out was quick and efficient. Car Parking(outside and undercover) is free which is always a bonus, if I had to find a negative about this hotel it would have to be the distance away from the main Shopping Area, 10min drive possibly 30 min walk, Warnambool itself isn't a major shopping precinct but if you're looking for somewhere with nice walks and sea views its definately a good place to visit. The breakfast at the hotel was meant to be a buffet but wasnt, instead they had a Continental and you could chose from their menu for a hot dish, the price for full buffet was $29 but if you pre-booked at the desk before that morning it was $22, which was well worth it.I would be more than happy to stay at this hotel again.

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THE SEBEL DEEP BLUE (WARRNAMBOOL) AS POSSIBLE,
they are overpriced and claim to be a four star Hotel when they are far from it.

After reading their room description and upon seeing photographs of their rooms, my Partner and I decided to stay here.

Firstly, we found it difficult to find, from street level it is hidden away behind the Lady Bay Hotel.
The room we stayed in, was named the ‘Oceanview Studio’ and was described as having picturesque views of the Ocean, unfortunately they were nowhere to be found and we had a view of the car park and opposing buildings instead.

The bed was hard and the pillows provided were like speed humps and very uncomfortable to sleep on.

The ensuite had bi-fold doors to the bedroom, which was aesthetically pleasing, but highly unpractical, as to use the toilet in private one would have to close the bi-fold doors first. The bathroom sink kept having water splashing out as the basin was too shallow. The shower had no door, so the water would end up outside the shower and all over the tiles. The fan in the ensuite didn’t work, so any steam and, or unpleasant odours were trapped in the room. The water in the building had more chlorine in it than the swimming pool.

The rooms were said to have air conditioning, unfortunately what they failed to mention was that the rooms had a portable air conditioning system, which were very difficult to get working, only ran on the one setting, ‘HIGH’ and were so loud that it was impossible to sleep, and because it was a 35°C night, we were forced to sleep with the balcony door and window open, and all we could hear all night was the other rooms, air conditioners running, as well as all the noise coming from the car park below, and we could also hear children running up and down the corridor. The mini-bar was encased in a cupboard, so that it was overheating and creating extra heat in the room.

The rooms were modern and upmarket, but had a tiny plasma T.V. with poor sound quality, they didn’t have the capacity to play DVDs’ and were incompatible with a USB.

We had a Do Not Disturb sign on our door and had housekeeping let themselves in, while we were being intimate.

We were charged a $100.00 bond, on top of the room charge and were told that the money would be refunded on our departure, which is ridiculous as I don't know of any other hotels that charge a bond.

When we bought to Managements attention that we were disillusioned with the room and our stay in general, they acted blasé and informed us that they were working on replacing the portable air conditioners in all of the rooms.

Room Tip: Stay anywhere else.
