One of the growing Quest group, this is a realy nice apartment-style accommodation. Has everything you need to be self sufficient for a short to medium stay. It's located in trendy St Kilda, outside the main urban centre of Melbourne, but within easy reach by tram. It's also very close to the superb St Kilda beach.
Shopping is easy and close by, as are lots of cafes and restaurants, so it's easy to eat out if you can't be bothered cooking. And there are plenty of meal delivery services, too.
One niggle was the bath/shower. These have a very high and slippy step-over theshold and are not for the elderly or less mobile, for whom they would be dangerous.
The hotel is located on a VERY complicated junction. It's not a noise problem - there is very little traffic noise in the building - but the hotel directions are very poor, and you could end up driving in circles. Ignore the instructions, and set your satnav for Pattison Street. This is one way and you enter it from Princes St. Stop your car at the end in one of the angled parking spaces on the right, and walk round the corner to reception, where they'll give you a zapper for the big underground car park. Don't use the intercom on the car park to gain your first entry. It's catch 22 and you can end up locked in the car park......
Oh, and for those of you who are Neighbours fans, the pub where they do the meet the cast nights is 100 yards from the hotel.
