“Good accomodation - no complaints!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

I'm often never sure what to say in accommodation reviews like this. On this trip our accommodation was just somewhere to sleep overnight and not part of the destination.

Be that as it may the Cathedral Motor Inn was excellent. Check in was quick and simple. Our family room (1 queen and a single bed on the main room and a separate room with 2 single beds) was clean, well looked after and fully operational.

As I said in the title - no complaints and very happy with the stay.

Cathedral Motor Inn is normally an excellent place to stay close to the centre of
Bendigo, and I have used the motel for many years. This time their bookings were poorly handled with mix-ups, the staff were not working together, and check-out was proving challenging to several groups ahead of me.
Expect this to be an interim situation, and they will hopefully lift their game to the high standard that I have come to expect in the past.

Room Tip: There is a 'highway side' but Bendigo night traffic is usually minimal.

Great location near the CBD. Clean rooms. Friendly service. surrounded by cafe/bakeries/eateries. did not have a restaurant but food is only a short walk away & delivery was available. On main road but minimal road noise. near church so 10am Sunday morning is bells & church time, no excuse to miss church.

After awful accomodation the night before and 10 hours on the road, this place was a godsend. A hugely friendly welcome, with a discount for RACV (or state appropriate) membership, offer of fresh milk for tea and coffee (UHT already provided in rooms) and a warm smile put us at ease straight away. Facilities were great, plenty of crockery, cutlery, a microwave, toaster, chopping board and knife, plus all the normal tea, coffee etc, made such an easy stay. Beautiful immaculately clean bathroom, with all the essentials. A separate sleeping area for the children (3 year old twins), meant that we all got a good night sleep in family suite, room 10. Even though we brought our own breakfast (due to 2 coeliacs in the family), when we ran out of butter, they more than happily brought some to our room free of charge. There is no restaurant on grounds, but plenty of take aways within walking distance and loads of places that deliver, with lots of information to help you decide in the rooms. Microwaveable gluten free meals available from reception too. We truly couldn't have been happier with this choice.

Hotel was off the main road, about 500 metres from the Bendigo city centre, so easy to walk to the CBD. It meant we could visit a number of attractions, and have dinner with a few glasses of wine without worrying about driving.
The hotel/ motel, was clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly and very helpfull. Price was very reasonable considering its location. We had a room in the back of the motel, so it was very quiet (ask for rooms in the 20's series as these are at the rear.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms in the 20 series at the back of the hotel. These are very quiet

Travelled with my family which include our 3 grown up children to a family birthday. Clean, roomy ( even with all 5 of us getting ready ) and a good position for those who are new to Bendigo. Could have used a mirror in the second bedroom but apart from that we were all happy. Cost us $200 per night which I thought was ok for 5 of us.

The Cathedral Motor Inn has excellent size rooms which were clean and well equipped. Every modern con was there. The staff provided excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The breakfast was far better than you would expect in a motel. The position of the motel could not be better. You can virtually walk to all the main attractions and all the great restaurants Bendigo has to offer. I thoroughly recommend this motel for a stop over of a few days.
