“A home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

A great B&B located in a quiet residential area ensuring a great nights rest with none of the noise associated with a city location. We congratulate Ingrid on her set up of the B&B. It has everything that one would want when staying in a private residence.
From here there is easy access to the city and surrounding attractions. One night was definitely not enough. Ingrid's attention to detail and the service she provides was excellent. This is one to recommend to friends and family.

Room Tip: Any room. They are all outstanding.

This B&B, although a little outside of Ballarat, is immaculate. It is modern so do not look for historical ambiance. It is in a new residential area, but Ingrid, our host, is pleasant and attentive and keeps the rooms absolutely pristine. You have very easy access to Ballarat and its attractions and it is also very near Sovereign Hill. The breakfast is excellent and they have built their 6 year old house with clients in mind with a quiet separate relaxation room. We would definitely highly recommend this B&B to anyone who prides cleanliness and comfort over location and history in a B&B.

Room Tip: 3 rooms...#1 and #3 a little larger than #2 but all have exactly same bed and same bathroom arrangem...

Thank you Thomas for your review. We noticed that you were very interested in the historical buildings of Ballarat. We certainly have them here and more! Although we are not in the center of Ballarat, we are still within the city limits, not outside as you suggested. As it only takes 6 minutes to get to the Town Hall from Canadian Lodge, we feel very much part of the city of Ballarat. We hope you enjoyed you trip around Victoria and Tasmania. Love to see you back sometime.

We have just stayed 3 nights. We wanted a quiet place not too far from Melbourne. This was certainly it. The bedrooms, and indeed the lounge and breakfast area very comfortable, very clean and they were that way throughout our stay.
Breakfast was delicious and Ingrid is very attentive.
We definatley recommend this B & B.

We stayed at this B&B for 3 nights early January & it was fantastic & honestly did not want to leave we were so comfortable. Ingrid & Andrew were wonderful hosts & very warm & welcoming. The house itself was large & spotlesly clean & was maintained that way for our entire stay. The bedrooms were very comfortable, large & spacious as was the bathroom & the bed was a true King, also very comfy & firm, so loads of room like we were used to from home & beautiful linen to top it off.
There was a guest lounge, dining & kitchen exactly like you would have at home & everywhere airconditioned if you needed it. There was plenty of safe parking & it was not too far out of the main CBD so good if you are driving.
Ingrid cooked you a superb breakfast but also there were plenty of provisions if you wanted just the Continental & the kitchen was wonderfully stocked if you needed anything.
All in all we would not even bother looking elsewhere now as this was value for money & we definitely hope we will get a chnce to go back.
Thanks Ingrid & Andrew for a wonderful home away from home. xxx

Thank you so much for this lovely review. We're so glad that you had a great time in Ballarat, and found our B&B to your liking. As time goes by, we try to improve little things here and there and it does make the B&B more comfortable. Good reviews makes it all worthwhile. Once again, thanks.

The couple who run this do it very well. Clean, comfortable - no problems. The only downside is that a housing estate has grown around them, so it doesn't look so nice during the day. However, as we were out and about during the days we stayed there, this did not cause us any concern - and we would recommend staying here.

Thank you for your review. We are surprised to read that you thought our B&B did not look nice in the daytime. Most guests love the setting and our beautiful garden, but I guess we all look at things differently. We liked the fact that you enjoyed your stay, and we remember that you enjoyed the fishing at a farm near Ballarat. It's great to see a father-and -son team enjoying a break!

Very clean, very comfortable and well set up, good breakfasts and helpful owner. I did think that it is important to know that we had a car and could get there easily but it is a 5 minute drive from the City Centre, it is not walking distance

Thank you for your review. We liked having you stay with us. Although we are not in the CBD, we are not too far from the center of town. As 99.9% of our guest travel by car, we find that it is not an issue. The lovely views and the quiet area makes up for not being in the heart of town. For those that enjoy a walk, the walking track into town is about 4 kms.
