Owner description: Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar River from the comfort of our unique vessels. An informative commentary from our skippers will take you on a historical journey where you will discover the stories and tales that shaped Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Travel in to the heart of the Tamar and view the navigable section of the spectacular Cataract Gorge. Sample the delights of our local wines and cheeses as you view breathtaking scenery, world class vineyards, historical buildings, rural settings and frequent encounters of fascinating wild life including sea eagles, wild duck, black swans, pelicans, plus many other varieties of water-fowl and occasionally playful seals. One of our passenger recently commented it is like a moving postcard. It is certainly a 'must do' when visiting Launceston!

“relaxing and informative”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012 via mobile

we had booked for the 50 cruise but when we got there the lady offered the 4 hours one for $75 each instead of the full price. at $75 worth it. Ian the captain a nice English man very knowledgeable of the area.

I had read the previous comments about the food so I was not disappointed. I knew what I was getting. sandwiches with salads and cold meats. no salmon or anything fancy. ok for the price we paid.

the 4 hours flew by. I even had a nap!

all up nice relaxing and with only 14 passengers on board.... plenty of room to relax.

“cruise good, food and wine not”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

For the price we paid (over $100 each with discounts) the 4 hour cruise was OK. We travelled into the South Esk River up as far as navigable in Cataract Gorge, back to the start of the North Esk and then down the Tamar and back. The morning tea was just a handful of muffins and supermarket fruit cake. The light lunch was some cut pieces of bread roll with mixed fillings (picked over by some of the tour participants before the others could get there) followed by cheese, fruit and biscuits. There wasn't a lot for the number on board. The wine tasting was a range of 3 local Tamar Valley wines which went from ordinary to "please scrub this taste from my tongue" in tiny plastic tasting glasses.

“Cateract Gorge Cruise was excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

50min Cateract Gorge cruise: Short and sweet. Beautiful surrounds. Informative, interesting and relavent commentary. Skipper Calum was knowledgable, friendly and humerous; he was happy to answer all our additional questions. Boat was clean, comfortable with plenty of space. Ticket entitled us to a discount at our choice of lunch restaurants on the Seaport wharf.

“Relaxing 4 hours”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

The cruise was relaxing and informative. Maybe a little long. Skipper Paul was very knowledgable and friendly. Lunch was a little disapointing but the cheese and fruit platter was better.
