“A pleasant Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We stayed at the Mercure - Launceston mid-January. It was everything you'd expect from an establishment such as the Mercure - the room was clean, pleasant, average views, nice meals and comfortable. The only (slight) criticism was having to pay for parking, but that's what happens in some places with limited parking facilities in an inner-city location. Still, the carpark was literally outside the door. We'd go back to the Mercure if need be.

Attended with work collages, 2 were upgraded to better rooms but 2 were not, we had no aircon and the room was warm. Also my air vent in my bathroom was full of dust which effected my allergies. Informed reception and even sent a photo and got asked twice for my room number and it still wasn't clean on my return. Eventually we were upgraded but thats after our travel company was informed that the hotel didn't have the features that were required by our company. We also paid for parking and could not get a park one of the nights. Had breakfast in the restaurant it was about the best bit of the mercure.

Room Tip: The Car park side is quieter, and the rooms of level 5-6 have A/C

Ideally situated right in the centre of town. Privilge rooms are worth the extra for the space, Nespresso machine, & free wifi in room. The breakfasts were the best of the Mercures we have used recently. Handy car park for $6 a day.
Would certainly stay again.

We stayed here for one night on 25th December. The staff member who greeted us on our arrival was friendly and very helpful. We upgraded to a Deluxe Suite and were very impressed. The room was lovely and large with a spa bath in the bathroom and as we were travelling with our 10 year old daughter there was plenty of room for the roll away bed. We had dinner at the restaurant and breakfast the following morning - both of which were delicious. The hotel is reasonably priced and is in a great location for walking to the city shopping area. We would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again and were very pleased with the service provided by all staff members.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite - very nice.
