Thankyou windywombat for your comments.
With Boags brewery only 150 metres away and centrally located, I am pleased you had the chance to see our city on foot as it is the best way to appreciate it.
Hope to see you again down this way again some time.
Kind Regards

Great location near the river in a quiet area of town. Walked to beautiful restaurants, Cataract Gorge and into town. Staff welcoming and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Parking easy and flexible. Rooms spacious, clean and well maintained. Good value for money.

This place is clean, comfortable and the service is good. We were very happy with our recent stay here. We travelled with a baby and friends who have a toddler. Their accommodation was great as well (they had the three bedroom apartment which was fantastic).

We spent 5 nights here in a very nice 1 bedroom apartment. Very spacious and very clean. Quite central with an easy walk to Cataract Gorge, CBD, waterfront and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant, as well as one room service breakfast.
The only problem was the very noisy Health Club across the street ( St John St) When they have classes running, the music is extremely loud with that annoying bass noise!!!Can't have the door open! Fortunately they do not make this noise in the nightime or early morning. We had a 2nd floor apartment and the traffic noise was a bit much first thing in the morning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the higher floors and not on St John Street

Thankyou Lynne T for taking the time to post a response on your stay at the Sebel Launceston.
I will pass on your comments to the restaurant and kitchen team.
While we do have a good relationship with the gym across the road who provide special rates to our guests, they do have a business to run and they are aware of our business requirements, especially in the early mornings and evenings. I have had your details updated for a preference for a room on the other side of the building should you be in Launceston again.
We do hope to welcome you back to our hotel again some time.
Kind Regards

Wanted to give this place 4.5/5 but tripadvisor wont let me.

Managed to get a booking from an online deal which meant I had the suite with king all the facilities for just a little over the normal room rate.

The facilities in this room was Reverse cycle air con, LCD tv, a washer and dryer (useful as we were there during the Bushfire time and there was a big heatwave). There were 2 hotplate hobs, pans and pots as well as a dishwasher if serious cooking was needed (although we chose to patronise the local Launceston restaurants) Nice big shower but the location of where they put the towel hanger was inconvenient as was near the door which opens into the WC.

Front desk staff were always helpful and polite. Very accommodating as well.

Parking can be obtained was somewhat tight and not that numerous so worth asking for one if direly need space early on.

Location was VERY good. There is also a information centre 3 minutes walk up the street although we just tended to look up tripadvisor.

Amenities were not bad. Gym was a touch small and there was no pool.

Cleanliness was very good and paint did not look bad overall.

The attached restaurant was so-so only.

Overall, would highly recommend this place to friends especially if they got the online deal like us.

A note about the swipe cards for door and lift entrance: IT IS VERY FIDDLY AND INCONSISTANT.

Thankyou Dexeaur for taking the time in posting a response to your stay.
We are delighted you found the service and facilities met the requirements of your stay.
We do have limited undercover parking and during our summer high season they do fill up from time to time. If you were ariving by car during this time or during event periods we would be happy to pre-allocate a space.
We are also planning further works to the hotel over the coming months including wifi into the hotel, continued ongoing painting of rooms after a busy peak season and upgrades of our door locking system.
We hope you get the chance to visit this part of the world again at some stage.
Kind Regards
