“Last stop in Tassie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We expected a studio, and got a one bed executive accommodation. It was spacious as suitable for 4 with the settee also being a bed I assume. Large kitchen area with dishwasher. In-suite laundry facilities which we made use of. Pity we were only there one night due to its size and needed more time to fully appreciate Launceston.

Turning up in Launceston with nothing booked, this hotel was recommended by the Pennymill hotel (full at the time) - and what a good decision it was too. Excellent sized room, clean (as you'd expect) and possibly THE most comfortable bed i've slept in for ages.

A big thank you to all the staff at the Quest in Launceston for making our 3 week stay with them superb. The location of these apartments is right in the city centre within walking distance to the shops and places of interest. The street where they are located is quiet of an evening with little traffic noise and there are car parking spaces outside with free parking after 5.30pm. Several good eating places are just around the corner too. The apartments were of a very high standard and immaculately cleaned. It was great to have the kitchen and laundry facilities within the rooms too and the fresh milk in the fridge on arrival was a blessing. The staff are outstanding, going above and beyond their call of duty to ensure you feel at home. We look forward to returning later in the year.

Dear SunshineCoast71,
Many thanks for your recent reveiw of Quest Launceston. We find that apartment style accommodation usually works really well for guests visiting for an extended period and our staff take great pride in creating a warm friendly environment during the stay. The option of free parking on Paterson street after 5.30pm for a central city location is also a bonus.
We look forward to welcoming you back for any future visits.

Kind Regards
Rob Matson

Spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished, comfortable. Definitely worth a visit if you are travelling through Launceston and you are on a budget. The staff on Reception were incredibly friendly and helpful too.

Room Tip: Bear in mind that this is a very old building which means that in some rooms the windows rattle.

Dear NovaF,

Than you for posting a reveiw on Trip Advisor. We very much apreciate our guests taking the time to pass on comments regarding thier stay at Quest Launceston. As mentioned in your comments, the building has the original windows and some do rattle on windy days. These are gradually being rectified to minimise noise. Thank you also for your comments relation to the helpfulness of our reception staff.

Kind Regards,
Rob Matson

Was initially put off by some of the negative reviews of this property but it seems the owners have taken the comments to heart and remedied the bulk of the noise issues, particularly with the nearby clock and its Westminster chimes! We found the place to be clean and comfortable and the staff nothing but helpful and friendly. Like most of the etablisments we stayed at in Tassie, the beds here are on the firm side and take a bit of getting used to if you prefer a softer matress. I would also advise caution with the parking arrangements; be wary of the $5 per night "deal" offered by the managers to park in the council parking building across the road. An overnight stay in the park is free provided you're in by 5:30 and out promptly at 9 am. It's best to just deal with the parking attendant and pay the usual fee during the day..

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor if possible

Thank you for your reveiw. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and we are pleased to see that that the service and friendliness of Quest staff was well received.
After lobbying the local council for several years, trying to get the chimes turned off at night, we decided to be more proactive as you suggested and installed double glazing in the sleeping areas of the apartments, which has helped enormously with external noise.
Regarding the car parking accros the road, your comments are largely correct but do not tell the whole story.
If vehicles are left in the carpark overnight from Monday to Wednesday there is no charge by the car park operator providing the vehicle is out by 9.00am. From Thursday to Saturday the overnight fee is $2.00 if the vehicle is removed by 9.00am. It should be noted that if guests need access to thier vehicles overnight, there is a $50 fee from the operator to have the carpark opened. The car park is closed for general entry on Sundays.
In contrast, guests paying the $5.00 overnight rate with us, can leave thier vehicles in the car park until 10.00am seven days a week and have 24 hour access to vehicles with our electronic fob keys. This may not suit everyone, but many of our regular guests find it very convenient. Thanks again for taking the time to review Quest Launceston.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom Exec room and the accommodation was just amazing. Our place comprised of 2, split level rooms and this made the experience all the more exciting for our two children who had their own space. The facilities within the room were good and the size of the rooms was excellent. This really was a very comfortable stay and I would certainly go back.

Sure the clock can be heard but easy to de with. It never woke myself my kids or my husband. It was a great reminder of history and how close you are to town. I love the decor and Pebbles (head Housekeeper) was amazing!!
