“Great location and good family on hilday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The Village Family Motor Inn situated about half km away from the town centre and is easy to access to most of the favourable scenic and tourist spots near town centre. Three of us stayed
for three nights in a two storey with two bedroom self-contained apartment. The living room with a balcony and kitchen was on ground floor and the two bedroom, one master bedroom with a quuen's size bed and the other room with a single bed and a double bed bunk were at the basement. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with cooking utensils and cutlery which saved us to dine out and prepared our own meals. The receiption staff, particularly, Steve who was very friendly and helpful. Whatever we asked for his assistance, he would tried his best to sort out for us. The swimming pool was a bite small but was good for a day outting and dipped in the cool water and enjoyed the spa to easy your weariness. Car parks were right outside each apartment and just stepped out of your car and walked in. We would definitely come back again and recommend to our friends.

Room Tip: The aparment is situated in a suburb area of Launceston and all rooms are on the same level and n...

I stayed in a queen bed standard room on the 24th October 2012. Yes, the hotel is an older style, but it's still in good condition and well maintained and the room at $95 a night was good value. Rooms are a good size, with separate bed area and bathroom area, quite a clever design given it's age. It is the traditional motor inn style where you park your car at the room door, which is very convenient, easy loading and unloading of luggage. There is no air-con, but you don't need it in Tasmania 95% of the year. The staff (aka John) were friendly and my check-in and check-out was processed quickly. I only stayed one night, but quite suitable for a week long base if exploring Launceston and surrounds. My only comment is that the complimentary continental breakfast served in the restaurant is only available between 8 and 9 am, which isn't really long enough, perhaps 7:30 - 9:30, would be better. I would definately stay there again in the same price range.

Room Tip: The breakfast period is quite narrow, only 8-9 am, so make sure you don't miss it.

Ideal position, good facilities including bar and restaurant with good old fashioned hospitality.
Overall, very happy with everything and will certainly stay here again.By far the friendliest hotel we have stayed at.

Room Tip: The rooms with a view of launceston are excellent.

Indoor swimming pool with Spa is always the biggest draw card for us. We can return from outings and relax in the pool, read a book, and let our kids refresh themselves and burn off some energy. No need to drive again to the aquatic centre or so. Rooms are friendly, comfortable, balcony to sit out in the sun. The price is great, breakfast included, bbq if we want, or restaurant on site for dinner. Very relaxing, no pressure, none of that 5-star-fake attitude one can find at 'upper crust' hotels. Down-to-earth hospitality, warm rooms, fresh air, comfortable beds ... what more do you really need? We've been coming here for a few years now .... price & facilities better than most.

Room Tip: pick whichever you want ...

The motel is a bit dated and and need refurbishing as the place is quite worn out.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and have to use the stairs to go down to the bedrooms. Everytime we walked up or down the stairs It made so much noise that it woke up everyone. The heaters in the room and living hall were not working very well.

Room Tip: The main bedroom has an extra heater in the room.

Our third hotel in a tour of Tasmania and without doubt the worst hotel by a mile. The office staff were rude, arrogant and aegumentive. Our payment that was made over 3 weeks ago was not received by the hotel apparently so were forced to pay again... The rooms were a blast from the past walking back to the 70's. Bad facilities uncomfortable beds and feral decor. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, ever!!

Good value for money. I needed a room to sleep, and I just got what I wanted for cheap. I wasn't expecting good product or service anyway. I wasn't expecting a 5-star product/service from a motel anyway. If you are here and willing to pay more and have fun, and perhaps gamble a bit: Country Club Tasmania is 6km (4.5 miles) away!
