extremely disappointing that this is the only caravan park in Launceston. it is located very out of town, not walking distance to any shops. it's also located right next to the midland highway, so you feel like your next to grand prix. there are no rubbish bins. the camp kitchen is tiny. there is hardly any seating. the only positives are that the staff are nice and the toilets are.clean

The park is well located for the city and the Cataract Gorge which is a must see. Our reception was warm and friendly and we were offered all sorts of travel advice. The facilities are clean and well maintained, the caravan sites elevated and attractive. We have no regrets about coming here rather than selecting those a little further out.

Not wanting to blow too much cash we decided to fork-out the low camp fee to pitch our tent on a powered site to run our essentials, the portable heater & laptop, Ipad, stereo & disco lights. If you’re a family man & skimp out on a motel to stay in a budget cottage here to save money then that’s exactly what will happen, large-breasted Scandinavian women in pigtails & skimpy clad Thai masseurs in school-girl uniforms won’t be appearing from thin air to entice you to join them for a midnight snack, rather backpackers, families & grey nomads made-up the weekend population here from what we saw.

The Caravan Park is located next to the airport's main freeway into Launceston & like other reviewers had mentioned its not the most tranquil Tasmanian rainforest location with 18-Wheelers cranking airbrakes at 3am a normal thing one can expect. We noticed other mainland travellers doing the same as us, avoiding the limited selection of old city motels. They were more than happy with the grassy area surrounded by trees which broke the wind & were amazed at seeing wallabies loitering around at dusk, although these kids did mention they were from China & were used to extreme air pollution, acid rain & never seeing the sun, relatively speaking a little traffic noise seemed like paradise.

The reception staff/owners were friendly & answered all our silly questions from the weather & a good place to get a beer with typical Tassie humour. There were electric banking facilities for credit card payments, local attraction brochure’s & a vending machine for snacks, these are the modern bare minimums. The reception office closed at 8:30pm but if arriving later they can make arrangements for late arrivals. The toilet & shower blocks were large, clean & free of spider webs, insects & graffiti, better still they didn’t smell dirty or reek of dead animals.

The caravan park is located under 15 mins from Launceston by car but would be a little inaccessible for walkers & hippies. A takeaway store & servo can be found 15 mins walk towards town as well as a bus stop for transport. This was a good base for Launceston as we headed out the next day to continue our way around Tassie exploring the island from our car window.

Note: There is definately no swiming pool here

This caravan park has everything you need. Friendly service, spacious camp sites and extremely clean amenities. Overall good value! It is a 20 minute walk into town, but we really enjoyed it as it is quite scenic.

There is no chance of a good nights sleep here. The motorway is just a stones throw from the park and the traffic never ends. Worst sleep of my entire trip. Amenities are limited as well. If you can class having Hungry Jacks just down the road as a positive then I guess it has that going for it. The kitchen facilities are actually on an outside porch which would be ok in summer but maybe draughty in winter!.

I stayed at this park in my caravan for 2 weeks as my wife had an accident whilst on holiday from the mainland and was in Launceston General for 2 weeks and it was close to the hospital. Over the last weekend I was there there was a lot of trouble with groups of youngsters drinking, antisocial behavior, pulling electricity cables and water hoses off. One night this went on to 5 am. There is no after hours number to phone and next morning when complaining along with others, I was abused by a male staff member. We have been traveling Australia for 2 years and have never encountered this problem before - we will NEVER recommend this park to anyone!!!!

I stayed at this park over the weekend and it was terrible. I will never stay here again. There were many people in tents who were allowed to run around the campsite with alochol and harras others staying there. They were allowed the party all night, the manager decdied to call the police at 5.20am after the people had been going from 12am. My friend went to use the girls toilet and got abused by males sitting in there. We complained to the front desk and the respondance was "You choose to stay here". The room did not have a tea towel, plug or soap to wash dishes and glasses were dirty in the room. I will never be returning here and i advise you not to stay here either.
