“Perfect choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012 via mobile

Perhaps we were lucky that it was quiet when we were there, but although other guests were in attendance, we we completely unaware of their presence.
Although we could see some of the problems which others saw, we both felt that this just added to the charm of a gracious old lady, and Mine Hosts Pall and Rosemarie.
Would we stay again - wouldn't contemplate going elsewhere!
I suggest if you are looking for five star accommodation, try the Oberoi or Sofitel and pay accordingly.

Spent an overnight at this hotel and was totally happy with the room, the hospitality, the welcome and especially our room, the Marcioness. Thanks Paul for the travel tips and the interesting conversation.

Edenholme Grange is a restored Victorian on a hill in a residential section of Launceston. Visitors are assured peace and quite, but the drive to town is less than five minutes; and the Gorge is even closer.

We were in the "Banker's Room," which had antique books and an elegant desk. It was on the second floor in the back so we had two quiet nights.

Our host Paul helped us find restaurants, gave us tips on parking (no small thing when one is driving an SUV on the left), and served up a yummy continental breakfast. He also provided machines for laundry and had the cheapest internet access in Australia. (Be aware that all hotels charge for the internet in Tasmania).

Edenholme is not the place to go for chi-chi and hi-tech. That's why we loved it!

Room Tip: It's a Victorian. Floors creak. You might want a second flood room.

We were booked into Edenholme for 1 night only prior to connecting with a coach tour of Tasmania. Our host, Paul, was most welcoming and gracious. This is a beautiful historic building filled with antique pieces - our room was spacious and well appointed adjoining the main dining room. A delicious breakfast awaited us prior to our departure. It is within walking distance of the city centre and we would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I had a long-awaited weekend without the three kids. The Edenholme Grange (Victorian room) provided us with a great romantic atmosphere as well as location from which to enjoy Launceston in the short time we had. Look it's not a 5 star modern hotel, but no-one should expect that from a building with 100s of years history. Very interesting story about the history of the place. Paul is an interesting host with an obviously keen eye for antiques as shown by the amazing collection in the property!

Room Tip: Would probably recommend the top floor rooms (Victorian was great) as I can imagine it might be a bi...

The photos and website make this property look great and it probably was 15 yrs ago! Now it is looking tired and the old girl needs some tidying up. The beds were OK and the room clean, the grounds need cleaning up (old boxes and paint cans at back door). We stayed on the ground floor and found the noise from above floor very annoying as we could hear everystep and movement taken on the timber boards above us. Breakfast should be included in the price as it wasn't cheap.

Room Tip: Top floors only -less noise
