“Informative and Entertaining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

Very worthwhile for the knowledge gained about beer brewing, the history of Boags and its relation to Launceston. The beer and cheese tasting made it all worthwhile. Our guide was Cassee, a very knowledgeable and pleasant young girl.

“Love Beer - go here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

Really enjoyed the beer lovers tour. Was a good insight into how the beer is brewed and bottled. A lovely tasting at the end too.

“Nice place to stop for tasting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

We drink Boags at home, so we had to go and see where it all comes from :) Having seen mixed reviews for the brewery tour, we decided just to skip that and just show up and look at the visitor centre. There is lots of merchandise, and of course a bar where you can order a beer. It wasn't advertised anywhere, but for $10, you can get a tasting paddle of three 10oz (I think) tap beers which was excellent value. There are only four beers available, none of which I'd ever heard of: Boag's Draught, Classic Blonde, XXX Ale and Wizard's Smith, but you don't go to a brewery to taste the normal stuff they sell everywhere do you? All the beers were enjoyable, and we had a few paddles in the pleasant courtyard out the back. The bar staff were knowledgeable and told us about each brew, and there is a museum of Boags stuff upstairs.

“Overpriced for what you get to see”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

We enjoyed the actual tour but for what we actually got to see it was way overpriced. We could have seen just as much on a video. All we could see where closed vats, stainless steel vats of beer and a very bad view of part of the packaging section. Why they take you to the staff bar just to stand around for 10 minutes I am yet to understand. Unless you are on a unlimited budget I would give this a miss as $50 ( and that is a concession price) for 2 ppl to see nothing is a bit rich

“VIP Beer Lovers Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

Fantastic walking tour of the processing plant followed by a very informative beer and cheese tasting. James our tour guide was very informative with a great dry sense of humour. A highlight of our trip to Tasmania.
