“Spacious, comfortable, quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Stayed just one night on a quick business trip to Launceston. This hotel was easy to find, well located, well priced and had everything I needed for a business visitor. The hotel was busy with Targa Tasmania visiting (didn't know that when we booked) but even so the service we received was attentive, professional and friendly.
The rooms had plenty of space, were very clean and tidy. Not new rooms, but certainly not "old" either. They had a clean and comfortable feel about them.
Breakfast was fantastic, and the staff in the dining room were terrific.
When I need to go back to Launceston, this is where I will stay.

Room Tip: Don't overlook the carpark when Targa is visiting. Noisy cars.

Stayed for work as it was close to the office. Check in process friendly and efficient and pillow menu was good.

Other than that the rest was average. Noisy portable air conditioners just don't cut it and the room while clean was very tired. Took forever to get the hot water temp right and strangely only one water glass in the room, although several beer and wine glasses.

My room on the second floor was over noisy air conditioners and exhaust fans, I understand this is sometimes necessary but surely the windows could be double glazed to minimise disruption to guests. Only one of the two windows had both curtains so privacy was an issue.

Overall location was good but hotel average at best.

Room Tip: Maybe the refurb rooms are better but from reading other reviews they too have the noisy portable ai...

The room was lovely, and it was also central.
At one end of the street there was City Park (a park that also had a monkey enclosure), and on the other end you had the shops.
We stay in refurbished rooms (2 night and 2 night stays- beginning and end of our holidays).
They were lovely and clean, and staff were friendly and parking was cheap and easy.

Room Tip: N/a re: fitness centre and swimming pool

Some rooms refurbished and are dull and have no feel to them at all (this "new" room had a stand alone air conditioner?). Those that haven't been refurbished are like a time warp, hideous actually, is it 1986?. Was given a look at the 'State Room Suite', aka State of Disrepair Suite, every timber surface was scratched and marked and really did look very "Tacky".The service is non existent, there is no help with luggage, no one to greet you at the door. Parking is charged at $6 a day???? At such a low cost why is this not absorbed by the room tariff? This is a soulless hotel that desperatley needs some customer service educating, even the uniforms are wrong. I don't understand this hotel at all, it has prime location and enormous potential but fails on all accounts. There are way better options in Launceston.

Advertise sports channels available only have 2 rugby sports channels no fox footy although the guide is in your room for this, in room movies expensive, room service pizzas very small and not a good base with very little toppings.

Stayed there on the first night of our arrival at Tasmania. The hotel looks a bit tired. However, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the hot shower very much after leaving my home for almost 27 hours. Located at Cameron Street, all major attractions are within walking distance. Parking inside the hotel costs $6 per day. There are lots of off-road parking spaces so we decided to leave my car on the street.

Nice 4 star hotel within easy walking to main CBD area.My room was a deluxe twin which had ample space to move around for two.The bathroom was adequate and the luggage storage was reasonable. As there were plenty of eating places nearby I only used the restaurant for breakfast, which was extra as was car parking.Overall the hotel was quite reasonable.
